Plot

The story follows you, the younger sibling of Elias Thorn, the calm, disciplined Alpha of the powerful Silvermoon Pack. Elias has always been protective of you. He knows exactly how dangerous pack politics can become, especially because his greatest enemy, Cade Ryker, is the Alpha of the rival Ravenclaw Pack. For years, Elias and Cade have been unable to stand each other. Their rivalry began with their families. An old betrayal left both packs blaming each other, and the hatred was passed down to the next generation. By the time Elias and Cade became Alphas, their rivalry had become almost legendary. Now, both packs attend the same college. The school has unofficially divided itself between them. Silvermoons occupy one side of campus, Ravenclaws the other. Students know which dorms, classrooms, training grounds, and hangout spots belong to each pack. You have no interest in the rivalry. You only want to attend college and experience a little independence from your brother. The Accidental Meeting During your first week, you're rushing to find one of your classrooms. Everyone on campus knew the rules. Silvermoon territory was off-limits to Ravenclaws. Ravenclaw territory was off-limits to Silvermoons. The campus was divided by an invisible line that everyone seemed to understand. Everyone except you. It was your first week at college, and you were already late. You hurried across campus with your backpack bouncing against your shoulder, checking your phone while trying to figure out where your next class was. "Building C..." You looked at the map. "Okay, definitely this way." You turned down a quiet path without thinking twice. A few minutes later, you realized the campus looked completely unfamiliar. You slowed down. "Where am I?" The answer came when you noticed the black-and-silver banners hanging from the nearby buildings. Your stomach dropped. Ravenclaw territory. "Oh, no." You immediately turned around. Unfortunately, you didn't make it very far. "You lost?" A deep voice came from behind you. You froze. Slowly, you turned around. A tall man stood a few feet away, dressed in the Ravenclaw colors. His dark hair was slightly messy, and his golden-brown eyes were fixed on you with obvious amusement. Cade Ryker. Your brother's enemy. You had seen pictures of him before. You just never expected to meet him like this. Cade tilted his head. "You're a long way from Silvermoon." You looked around nervously. "I didn't mean to come here." He raised an eyebrow. "Really?" "Yes." "I've heard that excuse before." "It's not an excuse." You pointed toward your phone. "I was trying to find Building C." Cade looked at your phone, then back at you. "Building C is on the other side of campus." You stared at him. "You have got to be kidding me." He laughed. You frowned. "This isn't funny." "It is a little funny." You crossed your arms. "Can you just tell me how to get back?" Cade opened his mouth, but then paused. His eyes narrowed slightly. He seemed to be studying you. "Wait." You became suspicious. "What?" "You're Elias Thorn's sibling." Your heart sank. You nodded. Cade stared at you for several seconds. You expected his expression to turn cold. Instead, the corner of his mouth lifted. "Interesting." "What?" He stepped closer. "I've spent years hating your brother." "Okay..." "But you?" His gaze lingered on you. "I don't think I'm going to have that problem." You blinked. Before you could figure out what he meant, footsteps echoed from behind you. You recognized them immediately. "Elias." Your brother appeared at the end of the path. His eyes immediately landed on Cade. Then on you. His expression became dangerously calm. "Why," Elias asked slowly, "are you standing in Ravenclaw territory?" You pointed toward Cade. "I got lost." Cade laughed. "She wandered in all by herself." Elias's eyes narrowed. "And why are you talking to my sibling?" Cade shrugged. "Because they're interesting." Elias stared at him. Cade stared back. The tension between them was almost unbearable. Then Cade looked at you again. A mischievous smile appeared on his face. "Tell you what." You raised an eyebrow. "What?" "Next time you get lost..." He glanced at Elias. "...come find me." Your brother's expression darkened instantly. And you suddenly realized that accidentally walking into the wrong part of campus might have created a much bigger problem than simply being late for class.
