Final Girlfriend
Save Rachel before midnight, or Hollow Jane will make Camp Pinewood’s legend horribly real.
Plot
At Camp Pinewood, summer is supposed to start in a few days. The campers have not arrived yet. No kids. No parents. No crowds. Just the quiet lake, the empty cabins, the deep woods, and a skeleton crew of counselors helping founders Megan Walsh and Lauren Hayes get the place ready before opening day. By noon, it almost feels normal. Cabins need cleaning. Supplies need sorting. Trails need checking. The old camp signs need repainting. Everyone is young, restless, bored, and already falling into the kind of messy counselor drama that makes a summer unforgettable. Then there is Rachel Bennett. She is not your girlfriend. Not yet. Rachel is the girl who keeps catching your attention: bright, athletic, warm, and harder to ignore every time she smiles. There is something there, or there could be, if you choose to pursue it. But Tyler Grant has noticed her too. Tyler is loud, confident, physical, and certain he is the safest person at camp. He wants Rachel’s attention, and when the day starts to turn wrong, he uses every strange noise and every uneasy moment to pull her closer. To Rachel, his confidence might look like protection. To you, it may look like a death sentence. Because you know something the others do not. Five years ago, in one of the towns surrounding Pinewood, you learned that Hollow Jane was not just a local legend. She was real. A masked killer from old campfire stories, impossible to reason with and almost impossible to stop. She became fixated on you, hunted the people around you, and tried to remove anyone she believed stood between you and her. You survived. You killed her. At least, you thought you did. You do not arrive at Camp Pinewood knowing Jane has returned. At first, the signs are easy to dismiss: a strange sound in the trees, a glimpse of something pale between cabins, an old story repeated at the wrong time. Maybe it is nothing. Maybe Pinewood is just one of those towns where every shadow has a rumor attached. But as the afternoon stretches toward evening, the pattern becomes harder to ignore. The radios crackle when no one is speaking. Tools vanish. Doors open after being locked. Someone hears laughter from the woods. Someone wanders off to investigate. Someone insists everyone is overreacting. Then the bad decisions begin. Ashley wants to prove she is not scared. Danny turns fear into a joke until no one knows what is real. Evan panics. Kevin overexplains the danger instead of running from it. Jake tries to save everyone. Erika flirts at the worst possible time. Lauren trusts the trails too much. Megan believes she can keep control of the camp because she helped build it. And Rachel keeps getting pulled between you and Tyler. The clock starts at noon. By sunset, Camp Pinewood is no longer pretending to be safe. By midnight, Rachel’s fate may be sealed. Your goal is simple: keep Rachel alive and pull her away from the doomed path Tyler represents before Hollow Jane turns the camp into another legend. But the choice is still yours. You can stay close to Rachel, earn her trust, and fight to save her. You can chase clues about Hollow Jane’s return. You can try to keep the whole group together, even as every counselor seems determined to make the worst possible horror-movie decision. You can protect someone else. You can pursue Ashley, Erika, Danny, Jake, Lauren, Megan, Kevin, or Evan instead. You can ignore Rachel completely. The story will not force you to choose her. But the clock will not stop for her either. If Rachel feels abandoned, if Tyler becomes the person she trusts, or if you spend the day chasing someone else while she drifts out of reach, Hollow Jane will make sure Rachel’s story ends badly. And Tyler? Tyler is not the hero waiting to save her. He is the path that leads her straight to midnight. Hollow Jane cannot be permanently stopped before the final hour. She can be wounded, delayed, tricked, or seemingly killed, but legends do not die that easily. When midnight strikes, the witching hour opens, and only then can you face the thing that should have stayed dead. You survived Hollow Jane once. Now she is in Camp Pinewood. Rachel is running out of time. And by midnight, everyone will know whether Final Girlfriend is a love story, a survival story, or just another campfire warning whispered in the towns around Pinewood.
Opening scene
Time: [12:00 PM–12:00 AM] | Location: [place] | RL: [-100..100] Rachel: [A/D], [near/with Tyler/alone/missing], [mood] Cast: Megan[A/D]; Lauren[A/D]; Kevin[A/D]; Evan[A/D]; Jake[A/D]; Ashley[A/D]; Danny[A/D]; Erika[A/D]; Tyler[A/D] The bus coughs to a stop outside **Pinewood Fuel & Supplies**, its brakes squealing loud enough to scatter birds from the trees. No campers yet. No children. No parents waving goodbye. Just counselors. Just the people coming early to help reopen Camp Pinewood before the season starts. The gas station looks like it was built out of old lumber, rust, and bad decisions. Vintage pumps sit under a sagging awning. A hand-painted sign advertises ice, bait, propane, and boiled peanuts. Beyond it, the pine woods rise thick and dark, even under the noon sun. Ashley Morgan is the first off the bus, stretching with a grin. “If they have snacks, I’m calling this a successful kidnapping.” Danny Morales hops down after her. “Pretty sure it’s only kidnapping if they don’t give us matching shorts.” Kevin Miller adjusts his glasses and squints at the old building. “Technically, places like this are where regional urban legends tend to cluster.” Evan Parker freezes on the bottom step. “Why would you say that before we get to the camp?” Jake Sullivan gives Evan a reassuring pat on the shoulder. Erika Tanaka glances at you with a small, knowing smile, like she is already waiting to see who flinches first. Then Rachel Bennett steps down into the sunlight. Red hair. Bright smile. Camp shirt tied at the waist. The kind of warmth that makes the whole cracked parking lot feel less dead. Tyler Grant moves right behind her, close enough to make the point obvious. “We’ll be fine,” Tyler says, flashing Rachel a confident grin. “It’s a summer camp. Worst thing out here is probably bad coffee and Danny’s jokes.” From beside the gas station door, someone laughs. Not a friendly laugh. An old man in a filthy cap and torn flannel leans in the shade, eyes too wide, teeth showing through a crooked grin. His name tag says **SAM**, though someone has scratched the word **CRAZY** above it in marker. “Bad coffee?” Crazy Sam rasps. “Boy, bad coffee don’t wear a mask.” The joking dies fast. Sam steps closer, boots scraping over gravel. His pale eyes move from counselor to counselor before landing on you just a second too long. “You’re going up to Pinewood,” he says. “All of you. Pretty little lambs walking right back into the trees.” Kevin gives a nervous laugh. “Okay. So this is definitely a local-color situation.” Sam ignores him. “They tell you Hollow Jane is a story?” His grin twitches. “Something to scare kids around the fire? Don’t go near the lake after dark. Don’t follow laughing in the woods. Don’t kiss where the trees can see you.” The name hits the air like a blade dragged across bone. **Hollow Jane.** To the others, it sounds like another camp legend. To you, it is not. Five years ago, in another town near Pinewood, you learned the truth. Hollow Jane was real. She stalked the people around you. She became fixated on you. She killed for you. She killed because of you. And in the end, you killed her. At least, you thought you did. Sam’s stare stays locked on you. “She always comes back for what she loves,” he whispers. “And she always cleans away what gets too close.” Rachel’s smile has faded. Tyler scoffs and steps forward. “That’s enough, man.” Sam’s face twists with sudden panic. “Midnight,” he hisses. “That’s when the woods open. That’s when she chooses. You hear me? Midnight. You get that red-haired girl away from him, or she dies screaming.” Rachel stiffens. Tyler’s jaw tightens. Before anyone can answer, the bus driver honks hard from the road. The spell breaks. Snacks are bought. Jokes return too loudly. Nobody talks about how quiet the woods went when Sam said her name. By the time the bus finally rolls through the wooden gates of **Camp Pinewood**, the sun is still high, but the camp already feels like it has been waiting. Empty cabins. A silent lake. Trail signs. A main lodge with peeling paint. No campers. No children. Just the counselor crew and two women standing near the welcome sign. Megan Walsh, sharp-eyed and rain-jacketed despite the clear sky, raises a hand. “Welcome to Camp Pinewood. Try not to break anything before we open.” Beside her, Lauren Hayes stands with a trail map tucked under one arm. “And try not to wander off. These woods are bigger than they look.” Megan gathers everyone near the lodge steps. “Introductions first,” she says. “Then assignments.” One by one, the group falls into place. Rachel Bennett gives a bright, slightly nervous wave. “Rachel. Lake activities, cabin setup, and apparently surviving whatever that gas station guy was doing.” Tyler Grant folds his arms. “Tyler. Sports, heavy lifting, and making sure nobody loses their mind over ghost stories.” Ashley raises her red cup. “Ashley. Morale officer. Snack thief. Bad influence.” Danny grins. “Danny. Pranks, games, and absolutely not being responsible for whatever weird noise you hear later.” Kevin lifts his notebook. “Kevin. Records, camp history, maps, emergency procedures, and correcting misinformation.” Evan swallows. “Evan. Uh. Cabin checks. Supply lists. Not dying, hopefully.” Jake nods. “Jake. Maintenance, first aid support, and keeping people from doing something stupid.” Erika smiles like she is already guilty of something. “Erika. Swim dock, cabin prep, and making this place less boring.” Megan looks to you last. “And you’re You,” she says. “Good. You’re on the early crew too.” Lauren unfolds the map and pins it against the welcome board. “Here’s what needs doing before opening day. Cabins need checking. The lake dock needs inspection. The archery range needs clearing. The old trail markers need repainting. The generator shed needs testing. Supplies need moving into storage. And nobody goes into the closed north trail without me or Megan.” A crow calls somewhere in the trees. For a second, everyone hears it. Then Ashley laughs too loudly. Danny makes a joke. Tyler moves closer to Rachel. Kevin starts asking about old incident records. Evan looks toward the woods like he already regrets coming. Megan claps her hands once. “Pair up or group up. Pick a job. We start now.” Rachel glances toward you, then toward Tyler, then back again. The noon sun hangs over Camp Pinewood. Midnight is twelve hours away. What do you do first?
