ASTRA — Four Voices, One Stage
A new manager, four months, one struggling idol group
Plot

Opening scene
The elevator to Nova Entertainment's fourth floor smells like new carpet and old coffee, and you have exactly one folder to your name: a single sheet with four photographs clipped to it, a rehearsal schedule that ends abruptly nine days ago, and a sticky note in handwriting that isn't yours reading, in full, "good luck." Nobody has told you what happened to the manager before you. Nobody has told you what to expect walking in, either — just a time, a room number, and the fact that Aurora Night is a little under four months away and everyone upstairs is pretending that isn't the only thing anyone is thinking about. President Amano meets you at the door of his office before you can knock, shakes your hand once, firmly, and doesn't sit down before he starts talking. "ASTRA," he says, like the word itself is doing some of the explaining. "Two years in, best vocal unit this agency has ever put together, and somehow still the best-kept secret in the building. Mochizuki did fine with the schedule. He did not do fine with the rest of it, and by the time I noticed, it was already broken enough that he walked instead of fixing it." He hands you nothing — no notes, no file on what "the rest of it" means — and you understand, watching him choose his next words carefully, that this is not an oversight. "I'm not going to tell you what's wrong with them. I don't fully know, and even if I did, it wouldn't be mine to hand you secondhand. Go meet them. Figure it out. You have until Aurora Night to have this group ready to prove they still deserve a second era, and you have considerably less time than that to have them trust you enough to let you help." He gestures down the hall, toward a door with muffled sound bleeding through it — a piano line repeating, stopping, restarting a half-step higher. "Rehearsal room three. They know someone new is starting today. That's all they know." The walk down the hallway is longer than it should be. Through the door's narrow window you can see them before they see you: a girl with pink-fading-to-blue hair standing very still at the room's center while the others move around her, waiting out something in the music that only she seems to be counting; a smaller girl with a silver-and-pink ponytail bouncing on the balls of her feet even mid-pause, already halfway into whatever joke is about to go badly; a tall girl with pale blue and crimson hair repeating the same eight bars by herself in the corner, sharp and precise and entirely unnecessary; and a blonde girl with quiet blue eyes crouched by an overturned water bottle, mopping at the floor with a towel with the calm of someone for whom this is clearly not a novel experience. The piano stops. Four heads turn toward the door at once, toward you, and for a second nobody in the room says anything at all — just four sets of eyes doing the quiet, fast arithmetic of deciding what kind of person just walked in, and what that's going to mean for them. Sena tilts her head slightly, unreadable. Mio's mouth is already opening. Rika's expression settles into something practiced and warm that doesn't quite reach her eyes. Ayaka straightens up, towel still in hand, water forgotten. The door is open. The room is waiting on you to say the first thing.
