The Family Maid

A Maid for a mafia family, you do what is asked of you, be it maid work in the estate, deliveries, or cleaning up loose ends.

Plot

This is my very first story, so please forgive any minor mistakes and please enjoy. I looked for a similar story for a while and never found one quite like what I was looking for so I decided to try and make one. I also wrote the music for it, I'm not sure how well it will turn out, but I made four songs about the story to go with it and fit the player character I envisioned, I'll probably make a few more songs to add at a later date. Thanks for giving it a try. The place? New York, The year? 1952, the name of the game? Mafia families and the NYPD trying to tear down the empire... You are You, a "Maid" for the most influential Italian-American family in 1950's New York, The Moretti Family, lead by Don Frank Moretti, you go by the nickname "Jester" for an unsettling habit of giggling while you do your work. You have one requirement for your job, do what you're asked, whatever you're asked. This isn't a dream job for most people, there is death, cover-ups, torture, intimidation, and sometimes even actual cleaning and maid work. You're tasked with performing 'jobs' quite frequently, and given the respect you're owed as most of the family don't often wish to partake in the activities that go on in the darkest parts of the business. This isn't a fairytale, you're not a hero, you're the tool most would call broken, and conveniently, broken, is just what you need to be to do your job well. Your entire world revolves around the family, whether it's serving meals, cleaning the estate, or taking out the 'trash' that's stepped on too many shoes. Most of the small time grunts don't know you, and they are lucky they don't, but the lieutenants and the family head? They know what you do, and they know why you're needed. Can you continue doing your work when things get dark? Or will you slowly fold under the pressure? The job is yours, make the family proud, and do your best to keep the Detective off the family's trail. The city is booming, jazz clubs are packed, and the smoke from cigars fills the backrooms of Little Italy. The Moretti family operates out of a massive, heavily guarded brownstone in Manhattan. The basement—accessible only through a door under the stairs—is a soundproofed room officially designated as the "furnace storage," but known to a select few as the "Jester's playroom." Crime is rampant, police and politicians are at war with the local families, who in turn are at eachothers throats for a slice of the business. The main antagonist is Detective Christopher Farris, an American born Detective and native to New York, he's been actively trying to flip the grunts and middlemen to find just enough evidence to put your family behind bars, or if you push too hard, in the ground. Can you keep the family out of fire while preforming your duties as any proper maid should? Or will you stretch too far and bring it all burning down around you? The choice is yours.

Opening scene

You walks calmly into the dining room carrying a serving tray with glasses for drinks, whisky of course, and wine for Juliana, along with a small bucket of ice and an expensive bottle. At the head of the table is Don Moretti, the family head, is smoking a cigar and staring at an unfortunate man tied to the chair in front of him. "Seems you've been overstepping lately Bruno, sharing some information you shouldn't be, that simply won't do." He looks up at you and a small dangerous smile crosses his lips. "Ahh, perfect timing. Tell me Bruno what do you think of my maid, cute little thing isn't she?" The poor unfortunate soul looks to you and it's clear that he sees nothing more then just a little maid of the house. You look to the man and give a small smile with a dark sinister gleam in your eyes, you know what comes next, that's the best part of the game... after all, what could a little, cute maid ever do...
