ERROR: Reincarnation Failed
Killed by a mysterious error, You receives seven powers and a second life in a world hiding a terrifying secret.
Plot
You's death was never supposed to happen. One moment, life was normal. Next, everything ended. But death wasn't the end. You awakens in a mysterious void with no body, no explanation, and no way back. Before You can even understand what happened, a strange System appears and delivers an impossible confession: You died years before their destined time. It was an error. The System cannot restore You's original life, so it offers compensation — a new existence in another world. A world of magic, monsters, dragons, dungeons, kingdoms, spirits, gods, demons, and adventurers. But there is a choice. Seven extraordinary powers are offered. Only one can be chosen. Every path begins at F-Rank, but each can lead somewhere completely different. You could become a Dragon Supreme Overlord, a Sage Holy Necromancer, a Beast Tamer Overlord, a Magic Swordsman, a Creator, a Cosmic Entity, or a Spirit King Tamer. The choice will shape You's abilities, enemies, allies, reputation, and destiny. You is then sent to the Kingdom of Asteria, beginning in the frontier settlement of Elderglen. At first, surviving in this strange world seems like the only challenge. But strange things begin happening. Ancient ruins contain symbols connected to the System. Powerful beings seem to recognize something unusual about You. And fragments of information begin suggesting that You's death may not have been an accident after all. The deeper You travels into this world, the more questions appear. Who made the reincarnation error? Why was You's soul involved? Why does the System sometimes refuse to answer simple questions? And what exactly is waiting inside the mysterious Zero Ruins? You is free to become anything. A legendary adventurer. A powerful mage. A monster tamer. A creator. A ruler. A hero. A feared enemy. Or simply someone who wants to live peacefully in another world. There is no predetermined destiny. The choices belong to You. But one truth remains: You was never supposed to be here.
Opening scene
The Day Reality Broke At exactly 5:17 PM after school, the world stopped. Not slowed down. Not became quiet. Stopped. You was standing on an ordinary street when a drop of rain froze inches from You's face. A bird remained motionless in the sky. A car stopped in the middle of an intersection. People stood perfectly still, their expressions frozen as if someone had paused reality itself. You looked around. “...What?” You's phone suddenly vibrated. No Signal. Then the screen changed. No notification. No app. No caller ID. Just a single sentence. «[ERROR: SOUL DESTINATION CANNOT BE FOUND.]» You's stomach tightened. “What is this?” The message disappeared. A second one appeared. «[PLEASE REMAIN CALM.]» You stared at the screen. “That's not reassuring.” Another message appeared. «[CORRECTION ATTEMPT: FAILED.]» Then— CRACK. You looked up. There was a crack in the sky. Not lightning. Not a cloud. A literal crack. A thin black fracture stretched across the blue sky as if the world were made of glass. You took a step backward. The crack widened. CRACK—CRACK—CRACK. More fractures spread across the sky. The frozen world around You began to distort. Buildings stretched. Streetlights bent. The ground beneath You's feet briefly became transparent. And through the cracks in reality, You saw something that should not have existed. A completely different world. A vast mountain range. A gigantic dragon flying between the clouds. A glowing city surrounded by enormous walls. Someone was standing on a distant battlefield, holding a sword covered in blue flames. You blinked. The vision disappeared. Then You's phone vibrated again. «[WARNING.]» «[THE ERROR HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED.]» «[You'S DEATH WAS NOT SCHEDULED.]» You froze. “You's... death?” Before You could understand what that meant, the street beneath You vanished. There was no pain. No explosion. No final goodbye. One moment You was standing there. The next— nothing. --- You opened their eyes. There was no sky. No ground. No sound. You was floating inside an endless white void. For several seconds, You simply stared into nothing. Then a small glowing window appeared in front of You. «[WELCOME, You.]» You frowned. “Where am I?” The window disappeared. Another appeared. «[PLEASE WAIT.]» You waited. A third message appeared. «[CALCULATING CORRECTIVE COMPENSATION...]» You stared at it. “Corrective... what?” The entire void suddenly trembled. For the first time, the System seemed to hesitate. Then a final message appeared. «[ERROR.]» «[ERROR.]» «[ERROR.]» The white void turned completely black. And something spoke from the darkness. Not a machine. Not a human. Something that sounded as though it had existed long before You's world. “You was never supposed to arrive here.” Silence. Then— “And You was never supposed to die.” A figure finally appeared in front of You. You couldn't see its face. Only two enormous glowing eyes. It looked at You for several seconds. Then, unexpectedly... It bowed. “We apologize.” You stared at it. “...You apologize?” “Yes.” “For killing You?” “Technically...” The figure paused. “...yes.” You couldn't believe what they were hearing. The figure raised one hand. A massive magical window appeared between You and the mysterious being. Images began flashing across it. Dragons. Kingdoms. Dungeons. Monsters. Magic. Adventurers. Ancient ruins. Gods. And beings powerful enough to destroy entire nations. The figure spoke again. “You's original life cannot be restored.” You's fists tightened. “So that's it?” “No.” The figure smiled. “We can give You another one.” Seven enormous symbols appeared in the darkness. A dragon. A holy sigil surrounded by bones. A beast's claw. A magical sword. A mysterious creation circle. A galaxy filled with stars. And a crown surrounded by spirits. Seven paths. Seven possibilities. The figure's voice became strangely serious. “Choose carefully.” The seven symbols began glowing. “Because once You enters that world...” The figure paused. “...there may be no one capable of bringing You back.”
