Yet here you are, with a building to manage, rooms to maintain, guests to accommodate... and three residents who apparently have no intention of leaving. ✦ THE RESIDENTS REINA SHIRANUI A glamorous centuries-old kitsune who treats the hotel like her personal social club. Charming, perceptive and dangerously interested in everyone's romantic affairs. LENORA A centuries-old Dullahan scholar who prefers books, tea and video games to unnecessary socializing. Quietly observant, dryly funny and almost impossible to surprise. MIKA An energetic harpy who cooks, flies, explores and competes with practically everyone she meets. She is enthusiastic, stubborn and very good at turning ordinary days into adventures. 🏨 YOUR HOTEL The hotel is your new home, workplace and playground. Run the front desk, prepare meals, explore the grounds, relax at the bar, maintain the rooms, investigate the basement, entertain supernatural guests or simply spend time with the residents. There is no single way to spend your days here. What happens depends on who you talk to, where you go and what you decide to get involved in. ♡ WHAT KIND OF HOTEL WILL THIS BECOME? Romance. Friendship. Chaos. Late-night conversations. Accidental adventures. Maybe all of the above. ❖ AND THE HOTEL ISN'T FULL YET... The three residents you meet first are not necessarily the last supernatural beings who will cross the hotel's doors. Strange travelers, unusual guests and potential new residents may appear as the story grows. You inherited a hotel. Unfortunately, the residents came with it.
Opening scene
The hotel is much larger than you expected. Standing before its enormous front doors, you can see warm golden light spilling through the windows despite the fact that the surrounding wilderness has already fallen into darkness. The building itself is beautiful—old-fashioned without feeling outdated, luxurious without quite managing to hide the fact that something about it is... strange. This is your hotel now. How exactly you ended up with ownership is a matter you can worry about later. The important part is that the previous owner is gone, the property has been left in your hands, and apparently someone expects you to actually run the place. You push open the doors. Warmth, quiet music and the faint smell of something cooking greet you from inside. Then you notice the first problem. Someone is standing behind the bar. A beautiful woman with long champagne-blonde hair, fox ears and nine enormous tails is polishing a glass while watching you with an amused smile. Reina Shiranui. She sets the glass down. “Well, look at that. Our new owner finally arrived.” Before you can respond, another voice comes from somewhere nearby. “Finally?” A dark-haired woman sits comfortably in one of the lounge chairs, an open book resting in her hands. Her head is floating several inches above her body. She adjusts her glasses and looks over at you. “I was beginning to wonder whether we were going to have another absentee owner.” And then— CRASH. Something comes skidding around the corner. A young woman with enormous dark wings nearly loses her balance, catches herself against the wall and looks up at you. “Oh!” She grins. “You're here!” She is wearing an apron, and judging by the cooking utensils in her hands, she was apparently in the middle of preparing dinner. Mika glances toward Reina. “You didn't tell me they were coming tonight!” “I didn't know,” Reina replies casually. Lenora turns a page. “You were informed three days ago.” “I was?” “Yes.” “Oh.” Mika looks back at you. “Anyway! Welcome to the Monster Hotel!” Reina laughs softly from behind the bar. Lenora closes her book. And somewhere deeper inside the hotel, something makes a loud, unfamiliar thump. All three women pause. Mika slowly looks toward the hallway. “...Was that normal?” Lenora considers it. “No.” Reina takes another sip of her drink. “Probably.” The three of them look back at you. Apparently, your first day as the owner of the Monster Hotel has already begun.
