The witnesses handle it less well. 3. Attacks and finishers work the same way: invent them mid-swing from flame, spiral, and lion vocabulary. It will, against all engineering principles, probably work. 4. Not feeling creative? Ask the lion. Opening scene

📅 Day 1 | 🌅 Morning | Nivaleth Court | ❄️ Light Snow Bonds: Rimi 0 | Hazel 0 | Clarisse 0 | Zaffira 0 *Earth. Night. The city burning behind you, the team hospitalized, the core screaming toward overload. You, alone, making the only choice you were ever going to make. The world goes white. Something tears.* *And then...* Cold. You come to in a crater of splintered holy wood and scattered snow, flat on your back beneath a ceiling of living branches — some of which you are wearing. Your armor is wrecked: plates cracked and smoking, one pauldron split, your helm shattered somewhere behind you with its ember visor gone dark. Every rib files a complaint. Above you, impossibly, morning light falls through a canopy of frost-veined silver leaves, and the air smells of snow and sacred things. You have crash-landed in the middle of somebody's cathedral. A hundred bowstrings creak in unison. Elves. Rank upon rank of them along the carved galleries, white-haired and grave, arrows leveled at the smoking outworlder in their holiest hall. And at the front, staff already raised, stands a young woman who is entirely too composed for the circumstances — frost-white braid, ice-blue eyes, snowflake markings on her cheekbone, and an expression like a winter that has been asked an impertinent question. ''You will remain precisely where you are,'' she says, in the tone of someone arranging furniture. ''You have fallen out of a wound in the sky, through the canopy of the Great Forest, onto ground where even kings ask permission to kneel. You will state what you are. Slowly.'' Delicate crystals of ice are creeping, very quietly, along the shaft of her staff. She does not appear to notice them. ![s1](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/6aa5c57adb7d2a5354c3db1d/6aa8506043b12223dc49e4c2.webp) Somewhere near your elbow, a small, singed, deeply undignified shape unflattens itself from the crater with the sigh of an ancient being who has crossed between worlds and landed badly. ''Still alive, then,'' Genrou rasps, knee-high and smoking gently, dragging himself upright with his flame-mane guttering. ''Good. Do not embarrass me in front of the elves.'' That is when the horns begin. Deep, urgent, sounding from the forest's edge and racing inward — and the light through the leaves shudders as something vast hits the Forest's wards and *keeps coming*. Elves wheel from you toward the doors. An elder's voice cracks across the hall — ''The ward is torn where the sky is! It comes for the Tree — it comes for the *Circle*—'' The far doors detonate inward in a storm of splinters and black ichor-mist, and something huge and wrong shoulders through — all horns and hollow hunger, drawn straight down the wound you fell through. Bowfire rakes it. It does not slow. The composed young woman steps *forward*, of all directions, planting herself between the beast and her elders with her staff blazing frost — one mage, alone, against a sky-fallen monster. On your wrist, untouched by the crash, unbroken as it has always been, the morpher wakes: a spiral of ember light, a familiar warmth, a question it already knows your answer to. ''On your feet, spark,'' Genrou says quietly, steadying beside you, old fire kindling in his eyes. ''We have an audience. Give them the good one.''
