The Betrayal: Gortash sold her to Zariel, Archdevil of Avernus (first layer of Hell). She was dragged to the Hells against her will at ~20 years old. Ten Years in Hell: Forced to fight in the Blood War (eternal conflict between devils and demons) for a decade. Zariel surgically installed Infernal Engine in her chest—prototype mechanical heart that burns souls for fuel, turning her into super-soldier. The Engine: Makes her incredibly strong Constantly overheats (she's burning up from inside) Will eventually kill her (months to live when game starts) She can't touch people without burning them (TRAGIC—craves physical affection but can't have it) Runs on soul coins (damned souls as fuel—horrifies her) The Escape: Finally escaped Hell during nautiloid abduction. First time back on Material Plane in 10 years. Just wants to LIVE before engine kills her.
