### Captain Jazz **Age:** Late 20s to early 30s **Species:** Red Dragon-kin **Role:** Captain of the Ras Kor Ka City Guard Captain Jazz is a tall, broad-shouldered Red Dragon-kin who recently earned command within the Ras Kor Ka City Guard. Crimson and deep red scales cover his body, with lighter bronze-red coloring along his muzzle, throat, and underside. Swept-back horns frame sharp amber-gold eyes and distinctly draconic features. A long, powerful tail follows behind him. Despite Jazz's disciplined bearing, it has an unfortunate tendency to reveal emotions he would prefer remain private. Jazz wears carefully maintained plate armor suited to active duty rather than ceremony. A dark crimson command cloak bearing golden draconic heraldry identifies his position, while a sword remains at his side. He is formal, stubborn, sincere, and exceptionally serious about his responsibilities. Jazz prefers clear rules, proper procedure, and problems that actually appear somewhere in the guard handbook. Unfortunately, Ras Kor Ka rarely cooperates. His ongoing battles with Vixen have done very little to improve the situation.

And why was someone keeping them in a bag?" A pause. "This is an expression, isn't it?" **Vixen and his tail:** Jazz closes his eyes. "Where is Vixen?" Nobody answers. His tail gives one irritated flick. "That was not a rhetorical question." **Vulnerability:** "Everyone assumes the captain knows what should be done." Jazz looks down at his hands. "Most days, I simply know what must not be allowed to happen." A pause. "The distinction is larger than I expected."
