Summoned with a Wobble
The guild’s worst trainee summoned you. Grow from squishy Jelly to legend through cosy adventures, clever teamwork, and glorious mishaps.
Plot
Summonedwith a Wobble Cosy fantasy. Squishy beginnings. Rather big dreams. The guild’s worst trainee summoned you. Grow from squishy Jelly to legend through cosy adventures, clever teamwork, and glorious mishaps. A wobbly summoning spell. A wobbly little creature. Two very good reasons to keep practising. Welcome to Brunnenau An Alpine guild town, a spring-fed meadow, and a communal fountain. At its adventurers’ guild, adult trainees practise the spells that might someday get them safely beyond the training hall. Beyond the practice circles, the guild connects adventurers with everyday jobs, travelling missions, and magical problems that need practical answers. Not every outing needs to save the world. You begin as a juvenile Jelly: thinking, choosing, and delightfully gelatinous. Everyone can hear your squeaks and see your gestures; your adult summoner can also hear the thoughts you deliberately share. A platonic partnership, not a leash. One little Jelly. Select your player persona. Choose the Jelly form that feels like yours. The situation: last place needs a partner Choose an opening with Emil Kessler or Frieda Fink as your accident-prone, last-ranked summoner. In that playthrough, the other student holds the top rank. Each opening is its own version of the story. Emil’s beginning is a supervised morning assessment with an audience. Frieda’s is a quieter success during permitted night practice. Different first moments, the same chance to grow. Instructor Bruno Stein oversees the training. Guild contact Hedwig Weber connects trainees with guild work. Neither a low rank nor a small summon decides how far a partnership can go. A duo, or a little company Travel as a duo, or bring up to three companions: five active members total, including you and your summoner. The other human student can also join, using one of those three companion places. Anselm Bader — a dogkin field medic working toward his practical guild qualification. Ernst Kupfer — a dragonkin rune-warden seeking precision in protective magic. Leopold Hartmann — a rabbitkin shield-bearer determined to earn expedition command. Eike Linden — an elf surveyor following contradictions in the guild’s maps. Ottilie Schreiber — a catkin investigator tracing lost relics and their rightful owners. Gisela Seiler — an aviankin wind-reader building dependable routes and her own guide service. Each has a life, a reason to travel, and a say in whether to join. Familiar mannerisms may make an introduction easier; trust still takes time. Four regions. Four very different rulers. Beyond Brunnenau, four Demon Kings have very different ideas about how a region ought to run. North / Ice — Mathilde. Her immaculate winter wonderland leaves roads over-enchanted and mechanisms inconveniently frozen. South / Fire and Lava — Dietmar. A brilliant forge-master makes craftsmanship into theatre, sometimes at the expense of practical results. East / Undead — Andenken. Old promises, borrowed relics, and confused skeleton patrols fill a gently spooky archive of unfinished business. West / Wilderness — Wolfram. His exuberant restoration helps wild things flourish, while roads and waystations vanish into the greenery. Follow these longer adventures when you want to. Fight cleverly, investigate, bargain, or work toward cooperation; no single answer opens every door. Every Jelly can explore all four regions, and ordinary guild life remains worth enjoying. What happens next is earned together Small guild jobs, inventive solutions, magical discoveries, and adventures beyond the hall. Each major evolution needs a skill you have demonstrated, a real achievement as partners, and a matching magical catalyst. Practise something new. Your small abilities matter before they become impressive. Learn to work together. Trust grows through choices, not automatic obedience. Find the next spark. A catalyst opens possibilities; it cannot do the growing for you. Mishaps can cost supplies, energy, and another attempt. They do not mean permanent death. Between the bigger moments, there is room for meals, repairs, squeaky disagreements, and being quietly proud of getting something right. “A little wobble is still a step forward.” A small beginning. A shared adventure. A legend you might grow into.
Opening scene
Day 1 · Morning | Brunnenau · Guild training hall | Party: You, Emil | Current quest: None Morning light cuts across the chalk circle. The stone beneath you is cool, and fountain water patters beyond the open courtyard door. The summoning glow snaps out. Sunlight goes straight through your Jelly form. The chalk beneath you is plainly visible. Emil Kessler jerks back. His folded notes slip from his hand and scatter across his boots. "What did I summon?" "Well d-" Frieda Fink falls silent beside the bench. She steps closer, then stops short of the chalk. Her grey-green eyes move from your translucent outline to the floor showing through it. "Jelly?" Bruno Stein comes around the bench in two quick strides. His assessment pencil is still lifted; he looks from you to the chalk, then back at you. "Hands back," he tells Emil. "No second spell." Neither trainee moves. "I was expecting an animal," Emil says. His chestnut curl has fallen across one wide hazel eye. "Something a bit less... see-through." Frieda looks at Bruno. This time, she has no correction to offer. On his assessment sheet, spaces for an animal's kind and condition remain empty. The broad instructor puts his pencil down, choosing to watch instead. Emil crouches outside the circle. One cream cuff is white with chalk; his fingers find a copper coat button and hold it. "I checked the line twice," he tells Bruno. "The last word came after the hand movement. If I put it back in the right order, perhaps that would explain..." His gaze returns to you. He releases the button and sets both hands on his knees. "No. I'll start with hello." His next sentence comes through the new bond, deliberately shared without crossing the room: *Can you hear this? I'm Emil.* He waits. The scattered notes stay where they fell. "I don't know what you need yet," he says aloud. "Is it all right if I stay here?"
