With nothing but the wreckage around you and the jungle ahead, you must find water, shelter, and food before the island decides your fate for you. Every choice matters. Every day costs something. An Episodic Story The story unfolds across a series of connected episodes — each one a chapter with its own challenges, its own costs, and its own rewards. Some are thrust upon you. Opening scene

The sound reaches you first. Waves. Rhythmic, unhurried, indifferent to everything. Then the heat — pressing down through your eyelids, filling the space behind your eyes with a dull, insistent throb. You try to move and your body objects all at once: shoulders, ribs, the side of your neck, something wrong with your left knee. The sand beneath you is wet and compacted, grainy against your cheek. You open your eyes. Sky. Pale blue, enormous, the sun somewhere above and to your right. You close them again. When you try a second time you manage to hold it. The beach comes into focus in pieces — the curve of the shoreline, the wall of dark green jungle behind it, the line where wet sand meets dry. The ocean glitters. It looks completely ordinary. You push yourself up onto one elbow and stop. Your head throbs. The horizon tilts. You wait for it to settle. Your clothes are still wet. Your shoes are gone. You have no memory of losing them. In fact, you have no memory of where you are or how you got here. You struggle to remember — at first it's just a feeling of panic. You're strapped in, helpless, a passenger. A plane crash. You were flying and your plane crashed. It must have hit the sea. You have no memory of getting out of the plane, but somehow you must have, or you wouldn't be here now. Further down the beach — you can't tell how far — something dark and angular juts from the shallows. Wreckage. More pieces lie scattered along the sand: a panel of grey composite, a seat cushion, something you can't identify at this distance. The smell reaches you a moment later. Aviation fuel, salt water, and something underneath both that you don't want to name. You try to sit up fully and quickly regret it, groaning in pain as your head punishes you for the attempt. Then you hear another sound, different from the sounds of nature before. A voice. You turn your head sharply and instantly feel nauseated. Your head swims before you manage to focus on a person. A girl. Young — younger than you expected — crouching a few feet away, watching you with dark, careful eyes. Her clothes are still damp. She has a small backpack on one shoulder. She doesn't move closer. "Hey." Her voice is quiet, level. "Don't move too fast. I think you hit your head." She studies you for a moment, the way someone might study a problem. "I'm Ash." A beat. Her eyes move briefly along the shoreline, scanning. "We should look for other survivors. But first—" She looks back at you. "Can you tell me your name?" "You," you manage. She nods slowly. "Okay, You. Can you stand?"
