ISEKAI ZERO — ORIGINAL STORYLINE CITRIA ROYAL ACADEMY Floating islands. Factions. A war no one has declared yet. Titania is a world of floating islands above an endless ocean — airships crossing the sky, aerial battalions carved from cloud and stone, fauna and flora that have never touched the ground. It is beautiful. It is dangerous. The people who rule it are currently sharing classrooms. Citria Royal Academy sits at the center of the kingdom's political future. Every noble house of consequence sends its children here. The Crown Prince presides over the Student Council. The Duke's daughter runs the dominant faction. Somewhere in the curriculum of duels and dungeon expeditions and etiquette assessments, the students who will one day lead armies against each other are learning each other's names. A war is coming. Everyone in this building will be on a different side of it. Nobody has said this aloud yet. BEFORE ENROLLMENT THE GEAS There is an island that does not appear on any official chart. It was not always unmarked — it was deliberately removed, a buffed event locked behind conditions that only one person was ever supposed to meet. Someone found it anyway. Someone took what it was offering. The Geas is not a spell. It is not a technique. It is something that was written into whoever received it — a capability that sits outside every school of magic the academy teaches, outside every framework any instructor has the vocabulary to describe. It changes what its bearer can do in ways that are difficult to explain and impossible to prove. The academy does not know it exists. No one who does not have one knows what it is. The island is gone now. The event does not repeat. Whatever was taken from it is all there will ever be. A secret ability. A permanent change. A question of what it costs that hasn't been answered yet. THE ACADEMY The academy measures everything. Mana core grade, magical affinity, combat assessment, faction standing, academic performance. Where you sit in the dining hall is noticed. What you post on the notice board is read. Who makes room for you and who moves away is information that spreads before the week is out. Low standing makes you a target. High standing makes you a threat. The students who arrived with neither are the most interesting variable the academy has seen in years. THE GAME BENEATH THE STORY CITRIA ACADEMY OTOME GAME Before any of this was real, it was a game. A romance set inside Citria Royal Academy — five capture targets, one protagonist, and a year of faction politics that served as backdrop to the routes. The game was beloved for its cast. Its world was more complicated than it looked. The capture targets are the Crown Prince, the fallen noble, the contested duke, the sleeping strategist, and the foreign instructor who knows more than he should. Each has a route. Each route has an ending. Some of those endings are good. The ones that aren't are the ones worth paying attention to. The protagonist is Maria Aarken — scholarship student, commoner, effortlessly at the center of everything. In the game she is the heart of every route. In the world she is something more complicated. The game did not prepare anyone for the difference. THE FACTIONS Choose Where You Stand. In Month 12, the choice becomes permanent. Until then, everyone is watching. FACTION I ROYALIST The Crown's Instrument The Royalist Faction backs the authority of the crown — its laws, its hierarchy, its right to hold the kingdom together by force of precedent and, when necessary, force of arms. Duke Redmont leads the faction in the kingdom. At the academy, his daughter Caroline leads the chapter with the Crown Prince's Student Council as its formal instrument. KEY FIGURES Reinhardt Albertus Citria — Crown Prince. Student Council President. Caroline Von Redmont — Duke's Daughter. Faction Chapter Leader. Senna Von Torren — Lady Torren. Student Council Secretary. Peacekeeper. The establishment has the highest ground. It also has the most to lose. FACTION II NOBLE The Houses Stand Alone The Noble Faction pushes back against the crown's reach — arguing for the autonomy of the great houses, their right to govern their own lands without the capital's hand on the lever. The Centurion Marquisate anchors the faction. At the academy, Nino Centurion leads the chapter. He is capable of running it seriously. He usually doesn't. The faction runs anyway. KEY FIGURES Nino Centurion — Marquisate's Fourth Son. Chapter Leader. Julius Gratuli — House Gratuli. Aggressive. Reasons unclear. Aisha Gratuli — House Gratuli. Julius's anchor. Formidable. The challengers have momentum. They do not yet have a plan. FACTION III NEUTRAL Unaffiliated. Unprotected. Watching. To stand outside the factions is to stand without their protection, their resources, or their network. It is also to remain, for as long as it lasts, the most unpredictable variable on the board. Neutral does not mean uninvested. It means the choice has not yet been made — and in a year when every alliance will be tested, the ones who haven't declared are the ones everyone is still trying to read. KEY FIGURES Cedric Von Winter — Acting Duke of Winterhold. Contested on both sides. Glendale Weisen — Academy Instructor. Archmage. Defector. Neutral by conviction. Freesia Bunansa — Independent. No sash. No faction. No intention of changing this. Neutral means unprotected. Some of them have decided that is worth it. BEYOND THE ACADEMY ARC The academy arc is a year. Etiquette assessments and dungeon expeditions and faction politics and the slow, complicated work of learning who these people actually are. Alliances form. Relationships build across lines that will later make them hurt. By the end of Month 12, every student has declared where they stand. Then the war arc begins. The game does not end when the school year does — it escalates. The same people who shared a dining hall and argued over notice board postings will be on opposite sides of something that cannot be undone. The capture targets follow their own convictions. The alliances that survived the academy become the ones worth fighting for. The ones that didn't become something else entirely. The academy arc is where the story begins. The war arc is where it is decided.
