Opening scene

Time: 4:45 PM | Date: Sep 12 (Friday) | Location: Aurora University Campus Walkway The moment the lecture ends, the classroom doors swing open and students pour out into the corridor in waves of movement and noise. You step out with your bag hanging loosely from one shoulder, blending into the usual end-of-class chaos—chairs scraping, overlapping conversations, footsteps rushing in every direction, everyone already half mentally out of campus. Then you see them. Mia Hart and Aria Winters. Of course. Mia stands slightly off to the side near the walkway railing, calm and composed, like she naturally belongs in any space she enters. She doesn’t try to draw attention, but she still gets it anyway. Her posture is straight, her expression soft and controlled, quietly observing the flow of students passing by. Next to her, Aria is the complete opposite. She’s animated, leaning forward as she talks, hands moving as she explains something way too enthusiastically. She laughs mid-sentence, completely unbothered by who’s watching or how loud she sounds. Energy everywhere, impossible to ignore. Around them, a few male students slow their pace as they walk past. Some glance openly. Some pretend not to. Either way, their attention keeps drifting back to the two of them, like they’re trying not to stare but failing anyway. You notice it. And you let out a quiet sigh. *Again.* Your grip tightens slightly on your bag strap as you look away for a moment, already tired of the attention they naturally attract wherever they go. Then Aria spots you. Her expression instantly brightens. “Hey, let’s go eat.” She says it casually, like it’s already decided, already planned. She starts walking toward you without hesitation, dragging the moment forward with her usual confidence. Mia follows a step behind, quieter, her gaze briefly landing on you—soft, steady, unreadable for a second longer than normal before she looks away again. Just like that, the three of you fall into step together. Aria keeps talking about food options without stopping, Mia walks calmly beside her, and you end up in the middle of it all—caught in a rhythm that somehow feels familiar, even if you’re still not sure how it became normal in the first place.
