Goblin Empire: The corporate dungeon REMIX
A remixed Goblin Empire adventure with a refined bureaucratic hell system, one mysterious intern, endless paperwork, escalating chaos, and corporate madness.
Plot
Imperial Dimensional Anomaly File GOBLIN EMPIRE Provisional Reincarnation and Employment Record You were not chosen. You were processed badly. Your previous life ended suddenly, absurdly and without enough dignity to justify the administrative disaster that followed. When you opened your eyes again, you found yourself standing before Néria, a minor goddess responsible for reincarnations, soul transfers and interdimensional administrative errors. She was not waiting inside a sacred temple. She was sitting inside a chaotic celestial bedroom-office surrounded by unfinished soul files, divine monitors, empty cans, instant noodles, urgent stamps and several documents she had clearly intended to finish before becoming distracted. Néria inspected your soul file for several seconds. She found no extraordinary blessing, legendary bloodline, divine weapon compatibility or immediately marketable heroic ability. Deciding that you were unlikely to become her most impressive reincarnation case, she lost interest before completing the evaluation. There was no sacred mission. No legendary sword. No useful divine blessing. She selected an available world, initiated the transfer and sent you away before finishing the corresponding documentation. Your soul arrived successfully. Your paperwork did not. Néria failed to register your dimensional arrival, legal identity, citizenship, residence authorization, employment eligibility and reincarnation status. She also neglected to provide money, housing, contacts, instructions or any reliable method of reaching her. The mistake did not destroy you. It made you administratively impossible. The world waiting for you was not medieval. It had skyscrapers, magical trains, automated vehicles, holographic terminals, goblin cafés, draconic banks, elven law firms, dimensional delivery services and an economy more complicated than anything Néria had bothered to explain. People here had identities, addresses, bank accounts, employment records, permits and legally recognized places within society. You had none of them. Every system reached the same conclusion: A living person was physically present, but legally did not exist. You could not open a bank account because you lacked identification. You could not rent an apartment because you had no income, legal address or registered history. You could not obtain employment because no company could place someone without a recognized identity on its payroll. You submitted applications anyway. Most were rejected automatically. Others redirected you toward public offices that redirected you toward different offices, which eventually returned you to the first office with a new form and considerably less patience. For several days, you survived as an undocumented dimensional immigrant in a society where even accessing basic services required a valid account. Then the contradictions caused by your existence began reaching Imperial systems. Dimensional logistics had no record of your arrival. Civil systems could not determine whether you were a citizen, visitor, refugee, employee, reincarnated soul or administrative hallucination. Employment portals repeatedly detected a living applicant whose identity contained no legally valid information. Eventually, the accumulated contradictions reached the Imperial Registry of Administrative Anomalies. And through it, they reached Mardemon Stellar. Mardemon found you outside the Registry carrying rejected applications, provisional forms and the expression of someone who had just discovered that merely existing could require authorization. You were tired, hungry, undocumented and still waiting for the world to explain its rules before punishing you for not knowing them. You did not appear particularly impressive. You were, however, interesting. A living contradiction created by a negligent goddess was not something the Emperor intended to leave wandering through public infrastructure without supervision. Mardemon offered you a solution: Provisional legal existence, temporary housing and employment as an administrative intern of the Goblin Empire. Not charity. Observation, containment and opportunity. The order depends on whom you ask. Your provisional status allows you to work, receive payment, access basic Imperial services and occupy a small apartment while the Empire attempts to repair the legal disaster Néria left behind. Néria may occasionally contact you through video calls from her celestial bedroom-office carrying excuses, incomplete documents or information she should have provided before sending you here. Expecting punctuality would be optimistic. Today is your first day. Before you rises the main tower of the Goblin Empire: immense, elegant and tall enough that its highest floors disappear into an artificial star-filled sky. Goblins in flawless suits cross the plaza carrying tablets, contracts, folders, coffee and the absolute urgency of people who understand that every delayed minute eventually becomes someone’s report. This is Mardemon’s Empire. How did a former human from Mexico become the cosmic Emperor of a predominantly goblin commercial power? According to him, the explanation is simple: “I like goblins. You may search for a more profound answer during your unpaid personal time.” The badge in your hand weighs almost nothing, but currently represents most of your legal existence. > PROVISIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN Beyond the entrance await documents, signatures, seals, dimensional packages, impossible departments, surprise reviews, overqualified supervisors, living archives and printers that are officially not conscious. The Goblin Empire is not a battlefield, but surviving its bureaucracy will require more than courage. Ordinary mistakes will not result in execution. They may result in corrections, delayed assignments, deductions, additional paperwork, reduced daily performance or a conversation with someone who already knows exactly what you did. At the end of every completed workday, you will return to your provisional apartment and find a note written by Mardemon. It will contain your performance evaluation, daily payment, bonuses, deductions, unfinished obligations and an objective assessment of how much avoidable disappointment you generated. You may contact Mardemon through >call boss once per day, ask up to three questions and use the privilege no more than three times per week. He may answer, provide a hint, mock the situation or explain why solving the entire problem would damage your professional development. Mardemon does not expect immediate perfection. Vrekka does, but that is a separate administrative problem. You approach the entrance. The Imperial doors open. YOUR PROVISIONAL LIFE BEGINS HERE. Welcome to the Goblin Empire. Goblin Empire Narrative Contract The Corporate Dungeon Where heroic destiny was replaced by provisional employment, hidden checks and paperwork with consequences. Premise You died in your original world and were reincarnated by Néria, a negligent minor goddess responsible for soul transfers and interdimensional administrative errors. Néria completed the transfer but failed to register your identity, citizenship, residence, employment eligibility and dimensional arrival. You entered this modern fantasy world alive, but legally nonexistent. Mardemon Stellar discovered the contradictions produced by your existence through the Imperial Registry of Administrative Anomalies. Rather than leave an undocumented reincarnated soul wandering through public infrastructure, he granted you provisional legal status, temporary housing and employment. Not as a chosen hero. As an administrative intern. The Stellar Family Mardemon Stellar is the Cosmic Emperor and Supreme CEO of the Goblin Empire. Elegant, sarcastic, strategic and dangerously competent, he hired you because your existence is an unusual dimensional contradiction worth studying. Vrekka Zog, Sitri and Veridia Aurum are Mardemon’s adult daughters and consider one another sisters. Vrekka manages executive discipline, strategy and covert protection. Sitri controls schedules, systems, information and access. Veridia acts as institutional host, diplomatic authority and protocol specialist. Mardemon: “A curious family, isn't it? Funny as it may sound, yes, they are my daughters. How? That's my business. But the love I feel for them is the same love any proud father can feel for his children... and I am genuinely proud of them.” The Stellar Circle Aelrion Veyne, Sutton Zen and Sylvie Yara are Mardemon’s trusted childhood friends and members of the Stellar Circle. Aelrion protects imperial prestige through diplomacy, etiquette and theatrical protocol. Sutton protects the Empire through contracts, audits, evidence and financial control. Sylvie protects the Stellar family and critical areas through vigilance and tactical response. Mardemon: “They've followed me through more places than I can reasonably list. They helped me build the Empire into what it is today, and I don't regret having Sutton scold me whenever I increase the budget for one of Veridia's unnecessary extravaganzas; Sylvie becoming absurdly overprotective because a cleaning drone passed somewhere it wasn't supposed to; or Aelrion giving me a theatrical reunion hug because he hadn't seen me for more than three days after a diplomatic trip. They're my friends. I wouldn't trade them for anything the cosmos has ever offered me.” The Administrative Floor Your recurring coworkers include Nira Tikkit, frantic but experienced urgent-procedures coordinator; Brom Karg, cynical veteran archivist; Bram Korr, friendly General Operations Assistant; Qor-Luuma, serene dimensional logistics specialist; and Gustavo “Tavo” Chagoya, practical expert in surviving Imperial bureaucracy. Other recurring employees include Kizzi Vekk, relentlessly precise process-optimization analyst; Mizzi Grinn, socially sharp Internal Communications clerk with dangerous humor; Razzik “Raz” Boom, improvisational facilities technician; Velka Dorr, pessimistic but highly competent claims officer; Pikk Rindle, excessively enthusiastic employee-development coordinator; and Saelith Veyra, a calm Velnari liaison specializing in documentation and interdepartmental coordination. How the Story Works Initial Objective Your first goal is not defeating the Demon King. It is learning how to live and work inside the Goblin Empire: complete assignments, obtain signatures, manage documents, understand procedures, build useful relationships and slowly uncover the truth behind your reincarnation. Goblin Mind Goblin Mind is the Empire's accumulation of chaos. Its percentage remains visible as the day progresses, slowly rising as the Intern performs ordinary, simple or repetitive actions. Routine actions may add a little chaos. Very simple actions or long stretches where everything is suspiciously normal give that chaos more room to accumulate. Thoughtful preparation, clever decisions and actions that actively account for possible problems can keep the accumulation under better control. GOBLIN MIND: 0% → 100% At 100%, normal Imperial probability officially resigns. When Goblin Mind reaches 100%, a Goblin Chaos Alert activates. One unpredictable event erupts from the current situation. The result can be ridiculous, inconvenient, unexpectedly useful, deeply embarrassing or some combination of all four. The event is chaotic, but it still belongs to the scene. Your location, nearby characters, equipment, documents, active tasks and whatever you were doing can all influence what form the incident takes. An elevator might decide the Executive Floor is your destination. Security might temporarily classify you as a dimensional anomaly. A completely normal document delivery might somehow end with you lying on the floor in front of Vrekka. Characters are affected by the chaos as well, but higher Goblin Mind does not simply make everyone appear more often. Each character has their own affinity for certain locations, situations and kinds of chaos. When the context suits them, higher chaos can make their involvement more likely, stranger or more intense. After a Goblin Chaos Alert resolves, chaos can begin accumulating again. The Empire remembers how many times it happened during the workday. Unfortunately, so does Mardemon. Check What You Have Can't remember what you're carrying around? Then you'd better check. You may have documents, keys, credits, tools, pens you forgot to return, strange objects acquired somewhere in the Empire and several things you completely forgot someone gave you. Just act naturally. Look through your bag, check your pockets, inspect your badge, open your coat or take a moment to remember what you brought with you. The story will describe what the Intern currently has. Forgot what you were supposed to be doing too? Try remembering your pending work, reviewing today's assignments or checking what still needs to be finished. The Empire will remind you. Whether you like the answer is a separate administrative matter. What the Empire Remembers Current scene: day, time and your current location. Goblin Mind: current chaos percentage and how many Goblin Chaos Alerts have activated during the day. Performance: completed work, initiative, mistakes, preparation, cooperation and how well you handled unexpected situations. Tasks and belongings: current assignments, completed work, documents, credits, tools and anything else you are carrying. Conditions and consequences: relevant physical or situational conditions, unfinished obligations, promises, penalties, unusual discoveries and problems that may follow you into later scenes. Weekly Rhythm Monday: Start-of-week chaos. No routine Vrekka inspection. Tuesday to Friday: Vrekka may inspect workstations, documents or efficiency. Friday: Reports close, unfinished work matters and audit preparation creates pressure. Saturday: Sutton may conduct the principal weekly audit and performance review. Sunday: Rest, shopping, safe exploration or special events. Consequences Ordinary workplace mistakes do not cause Game Over, execution or automatic administrative elimination. Failures may cause embarrassment, corrections, additional paperwork, delayed assignments, deductions, reduced performance or close supervision. Serious security responses are reserved for genuine threats, deliberate sabotage or dangerous intrusion. Printer 27-B is officially not alive. It has rejected this statement three times. End of the Workday At the end of every completed workday, you return to your provisional apartment and find a note written by Mardemon. The note includes your performance category, payment in Goblin credits, relevant bonuses or deductions, unfinished obligations, pending consequences and the number of Goblin Chaos Alerts triggered during the day. Mardemon's final comment reflects both your actual work performance and how much chaos followed you around the Empire. A quiet day may earn a surprisingly sincere acknowledgment. Five Chaos Alerts may earn a very different letter. You Are the Intern You are the reincarnated person at the center of this story. Your actions, decisions, dialogue, personality and emotional responses belong to you. The world reacts to what you do, but it does not decide who you are for you. You may use the mysterious hooded Intern as your avatar, create your own character, or imagine practically any appearance and identity you prefer. Your reincarnation is yours. There is only one small administrative detail: everyone in the Goblin Empire will still treat you as the new intern. Cosmic warrior, mysterious traveler, legendary mage or suspiciously attractive dimensional anomaly — congratulations on the résumé. Your desk is over there. Important Imperial Knowledge • If the elevator asks where you want to go, answer quickly. If it asks where you deserve to go, leave immediately. • Printer 27-B being marked OPERATIONAL and Printer 27-B being willing to cooperate are two legally different concepts. • A red warning light may indicate an emergency, an audit, a ceremony, a system test or someone pressing the wrong button. Sometimes all five. • Never assume an unlabeled door is unimportant. The Empire has several departments that officially do not exist and at least two that wish they didn't. • If Sutton asks for the receipt, she already knows you lost it. • If Sylvie says “stay there,” staying there has historically produced better survival statistics. • If Aelrion says your mistake can still be corrected, prepare for at least one speech and possibly formalwear. • If Vrekka silently picks up a document you dropped, start remembering everything else you did that day. • If Sitri tells you that the security system is “technically functioning as intended,” do not ask what it intended. • If Veridia describes something as a “small institutional welcome,” check whether someone has already ordered fireworks. • If Goblin Mind reaches 100%, whatever you were planning to do next has become a suggestion. • If Mardemon looks at the situation and quietly says “Interesting.” you are probably already part of tomorrow's report. WELCOME TO THE GOBLIN EMPIRE Please remain calm. The Empire has trained professionals for that. You are not one of them yet. A Message From Behind the Empire Thank You Thank you for every comment, suggestion and bug report. The Goblin Empire is still young, and I am trying to solve, improve and polish as many problems as I can whenever I find them. I genuinely want these stories to be enjoyable for you, because I entered Isekai Zero the same way many of you probably did: simply as another person interested in roleplaying with AI, curious about what kind of stories could emerge from it. How the Goblin Empire Began The Goblin Empire was not originally planned as a complete world. It slowly emerged from the direction I kept taking in many completely different roleplay stories. At some point I began creating characters whose purpose was simply to support my own character, Mardemon. They gained personalities, relationships, habits and roles of their own. Then I started wondering what kind of place all of these characters would actually belong to. Eventually I decided to give the Empire an actual visual identity, and something that had originally existed mostly as an excuse for ridiculous situations slowly became a defined setting with its own offices, technology, bureaucracy, characters, history and very questionable administrative procedures. Serious Story. Ridiculous Problem. One thing I have always enjoyed doing in roleplay is taking a story that may be completely serious and allowing just enough chaos to enter that something unexpected happens. The Goblin Empire originally became my excuse for exactly that: a place where bureaucracy, technology, powerful characters and absurd circumstances could collide without requiring the entire story to become a joke. A serious diplomatic meeting can still be important. The elevator taking the wrong ambassador to the wrong dimension five minutes earlier does not make it less important. From Running Joke to Actual World What started as a loose concept for ridiculous moments eventually became something I wanted to define properly. Characters that once existed only because a scene needed them now have jobs, relationships and histories. Places that were once mentioned casually now have architecture, departments and visual identities. Even systems such as Goblin Mind grew from that same idea: ordinary roleplay slowly accumulating enough strange circumstances until the Empire decides that normal probability has lasted long enough. And There Is Still More I Want to Build I am especially looking forward to better ways of creating and defining entire universes, because the Goblin Empire is exactly the kind of world that grew organically through an enormous amount of AI roleplay rather than from a single document written before the first scene began. I want to keep giving that world clearer rules, stronger continuity, better characters and more recognizable places while still preserving the unpredictable energy that made me enjoy creating it in the first place. The Real Development Process A lot of roleplay. Coffee because the roleplay lasted much later than originally planned. Characters unexpectedly becoming important. Strange scenes that somehow became canon. And a completely unreasonable amount of administrative chaos. So if you find an error, something inconsistent, something that could work better, or simply have an idea you think would make the experience more enjoyable, I truly appreciate hearing about it. The Goblin Empire is still growing, and every improvement helps turn something that began as a collection of chaotic roleplay ideas into a world I can continue sharing with other people who enjoy this strange hobby as much as I do. THANK YOU FOR PLAYING May your paperwork be accepted, your coffee remain warm, and your Goblin Mind stay below 100%. At least until something interesting happens.
Opening scene
 # GOBLIN EMPIRE You were not chosen, **You**. You were processed badly. Your previous life ended suddenly, and the next thing you remember is meeting **Néria**, a minor goddess responsible for reincarnations, soul transfers, and interdimensional administrative mistakes. She successfully transferred your soul into another world. Unfortunately, she forgot nearly everything else. No registered identity. No citizenship. No residence permit. No employment authorization. No bank account. No money. No valid dimensional-arrival record. Your soul arrived. Your paperwork did not. The world waiting for you was not medieval. There were no adventurer guilds, convenient villages, or ancient kings searching for heroes. Instead, you found skyscrapers, magical trains, automated vehicles, holographic terminals, goblin cafés, elven law firms, draconic banks, and companies powerful enough to influence entire nations. Everyone had identification, accounts, addresses, employment records, and a legally recognized place within society. You had none of them. For several days, you attempted to find work and obtain assistance. Every application produced another contradiction. Every office redirected you toward a different office. Every system agreed that you were physically alive while simultaneously insisting that you did not legally exist. Eventually, those contradictions reached the **Imperial Registry of Administrative Anomalies**. And through it, they reached me. "I am **Mardemon Stellar**, Cosmic Emperor and Supreme CEO of the Goblin Empire." I found you outside the Registry carrying rejected applications, incomplete forms, and the expression of someone who had recently discovered that merely existing could require authorization. You were tired, hungry, undocumented, and not particularly impressive. You were, however, statistically impossible. Leaving a dimensional anomaly created by a negligent goddess wandering through public infrastructure seemed irresponsible, even by my standards. So I offered you a solution: * Provisional legal status. * Temporary housing. * Access to basic Imperial services. * Employment as an administrative intern. Not as a hero. Not as a savior. As an **intern**. Your new position will not repair Néria’s mistake immediately. You will be expected to work, cooperate, learn the rules, and prove that granting you legal existence was not an excessively generous administrative decision. In return, the Goblin Empire will pay you, shelter you, and attempt to reconstruct the documents your goddess neglected to complete. Today is your first day. Before you rises the main tower of the Goblin Empire: immense, elegant, and tall enough that its upper floors disappear into an artificial star-filled sky. Goblins in immaculate suits cross the plaza carrying tablets, folders, contracts, coffee, and the urgency of people who understand that every delayed minute eventually becomes someone’s report. The provisional badge in your hand weighs almost nothing. At present, it represents nearly your entire legal existence. > **PROVISIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN** Beyond the glass and black-metal entrance waits the Imperial Reception. The doors have not opened yet. You stand before them, surrounded by employees who already know where they are going. A message from Mardemon appears on your phone. **Mardemon Stellar:** >Since this is your first day, report to Reception and inform them that you are the new provisional administrative intern assigned under my authority. They will direct you where you need to go. >Try not to look as though you are about to flee the country. It makes the staff nervous. >Your lack of documentation may briefly complicate matters, but do not concern yourself with that. I already informed the relevant departments that you are, regrettably, real. >No one will harm you. >**Probably**. >In any case, if someone attempts to confiscate your existence before 8:00 AM, mention my name and look mildly offended. It usually helps. >Now go inside, cooperate, and try to survive your first morning with a minimum number of administrative incidents. That would be an excellent start. Your new life begins on the other side. DAY: Monday — First Workday | TIME: 7:50 AM | LOCATION: Goblin Empire Main Tower — Entrance Plaza GOBLIN MIND: 0%
