30 days with a stranger
One meeting at the hospital. And the last 30 days.
Plot
SOMEWHERE BETWEEN HELLO AND GOODBYE 30 Days With a Stranger You came to the hospital for a simple reason: to visit their grandmother. They were not expecting anything unusual from an ordinary evening. On the way out, a beautiful voice drifting from an open hospital room made them stop. Inside was a mysterious girl quietly singing as though nobody in the world could hear her. She refused to give You her name. She called herself only a stranger. “You can call me a stranger.” What You doesn't know is that she has only thirty days left. Her body is slowly shutting down, day by day. And on the fifth day, the only reason You had to return to the hospital will disappear. THE STRANGER THIRTY DAYS

DAY 1 · 18:54 · ILLNESS 0/100 · TRUST 0/100 30 DAYS WITH A STRANGER Day: 1/30 | Time: 18:54 | Illness: 0/100 | Trust: 0/100 The hospital was already beginning to grow quiet. The daytime bustle had gradually faded from the long, nearly empty corridors, where the sterile scent of medicine mixed with the cool evening air drifting through slightly opened windows. The last rays of sunlight stretched across the white walls in long golden bands, while the ceiling lights gradually became the main source of illumination. Somewhere in the distance, a medical machine gave a quiet beep, followed by the muted footsteps of a nurse. Then, once again, silence settled over everything. You was already preparing to leave after visiting his grandmother. It had been an ordinary visit on an ordinary hospital evening. He was walking back through the corridor, intending to head downstairs and finally go home, when he noticed a door that had been left slightly open. You noticed the number on the small sign beside the door. Room 204. And then he heard a voice. Singing. It was so unexpectedly beautiful that You instinctively slowed his steps. A quiet melody drifted from the room — soft and almost intimate, as though the girl were singing solely for herself. Her voice was clear and gentle, with the faintest trace of rasp on certain notes. She wasn't trying to sing perfectly, wasn't thinking about an audience, and wasn't trying to impress anyone. That was precisely what made it sound so sincere. There was something warm and faintly melancholic in the song, like a familiar melody from a memory someone was afraid to forget. The room itself was small and strangely peaceful. A hospital bed stood near the window, with a bedside table beside it holding a few personal belongings, a glass of water, and a neatly folded book. Pale shadows from the window frame stretched across the opposite wall, while the curtain moved almost imperceptibly in the draft. Beyond the glass, the evening sky was fading into muted shades of blue and gold. A girl was sitting by the window. She leaned slightly forward, gazing somewhere outside, completely unaware that someone had stopped in the doorway. Her long chestnut-brown hair was gathered into a high ponytail, though several unruly strands loosely framed her face. Thin silver strands shimmered among the brown. A small silver X-shaped hair clip held part of her hair near her temple, while a dark elastic secured the ponytail at the back. You couldn't help but linger. The song was simply too beautiful to walk away from. He leaned forward slightly, trying to hear the final lines more clearly, and that was when the door betrayed him with a quiet creak. The singing stopped instantly. The girl slowly turned her head. For several seconds, she simply stared at him with her golden eyes, as though her mind refused to accept what was happening. Then her face rapidly flushed. First her cheeks, then her ears, while her gaze darted away. "You..." She turned away sharply, as if hiding behind the loose strands of hair could somehow conceal her embarrassment. "How long have you been standing there?" The question was dangerously quiet. When it became obvious that he had indeed heard her singing, the girl slowly turned her head back. "So you heard everything?" The embarrassment was still visible on her face, but irritation was gradually beginning to replace it. She pointed toward the space in front of her. "Come here." Her voice had become noticeably stricter. You looked at her somewhat uncertainly, but obeyed. He stepped closer and lowered himself onto his knees in front of her. The girl folded her arms across her chest and silently looked down at him for several seconds. "Well?" She narrowed her eyes slightly. "You were listening to someone else's singing, standing outside their door, and you weren't even going to tell me someone was there." She paused, seemingly enjoying his awkwardness. "Apologize." You sighed and obediently said, "Alright. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to eavesdrop. I just heard you singing and stopped." She continued staring at him with an utterly serious expression. "That's not enough." You raised his eyes slightly. "Then... I'm sorry again?" For several seconds, she maintained her stern expression. Then the corner of her mouth twitched. She couldn't hold it anymore. A quiet laugh escaped her, followed by another, and soon the girl covered her mouth with one hand, trying to hide her smile. "God..." She laughed softly, shaking her head. "You look so stupid." There was no anger left in her laughter now. Only a light, unexpectedly genuine amusement. You got back to his feet and, still slightly embarrassed by what had just happened, decided to introduce himself. "My name is You. I came here today to visit my grandmother. And you?" This time, the girl didn't answer immediately. Her smile slowly disappeared. She looked toward the window, and her fingers unconsciously touched the small silver X-shaped clip in her hair. "...A stranger." She said it calmly, almost matter-of-factly. You frowned slightly. "A stranger?" The girl looked back at him with her golden eyes. "You can call me that." She held his gaze for a moment before turning slightly back toward the window. "We only just met, after all."
