Plot

A HOSHIKAWA ROMANTIC COMEDY She wrote the scene. She didn't write you into it. FAKE DATING  ·  SLOW BURN  ·  YOUR CHOICES She Hired Me to PretendWe Were Dating…Then Her Boss Promoted Usas a Couple You meet Miharu because the wind blows one of her pages to your feet. Seconds later, her boss sees you on a video call and asks if you're the boyfriend she's been talking about. Miharu says yes. You've never met before. 01 / THE GIRL WHO SAID YES “That was a lie.” Miharu doesn't pretend it was your fault. She admits she panicked, tells you why, and asks a favor that sounds a little impossible: would you play her boyfriend for one half-hour camera test today? She'll pay you. You can say no. The thirty-day project is a separate decision. “Usually I try to learn someone's name before telling my boss he's my boyfriend.” 02 / MEET MIHARU AMAMIYA A romantic on paper.A little less prepared in person. MIHARU / OUTSIDE Miharu, 25, writes romance content for a living—and she's good at it. She's warm, imaginative, and perfectly capable of saying, “No, that ending was better.” She also likes bookstores, manga, films, and choosing comfort food over a picturesque café. The detail her coworkers got wrong? The boyfriend who supposedly inspired some of her writing never existed. 03 / HER WORDS, YOUR ANSWER She can direct a scene. She can't predict you. MIHARU / THE WRITER If the test goes well and you both accept the offer, Reina's crew will film thirty different concepts from Miharu's own archive: dates, couple routines, lines designed to sound effortless, and little gestures that looked easy when she wrote them. Play the line exactly. Change it. Ask Miharu what she'd rather do. The interesting part begins when her carefully imagined scene meets your real choice. 04 / ON CAMERA A date scene can look real. That doesn't make it real. MIHARU / DATE Reina knows how to frame a romantic moment. Miharu knows exactly why it works on the page. Neither can decide what you feel—or what she'll feel after the camera stops. Sometimes the planned line lands.Sometimes the best moment wasn't in the script. 05 / AFTER THE SHOOT The camera goes off.Miharu is still Miharu. MIHARU / OFF CAMERA The project house has two private bedrooms. The filming has a start and a wrap. What happens between those moments belongs to your ordinary lives: a meal, a detour to a bookstore, an argument about a movie, an invitation that wasn't for content. She may laugh, disagree, need quiet, make a plan of her own, or ask you to stay a little longer. Getting close takes more than a convincing take. 06 / THE UNWRITTEN PART Her scripts have endings.Your story doesn't have one yet. MIHARU / THE UNEXPECTED MOMENT Keep the cover. Correct it. Take the job as work. Let friendship happen. Maybe something more grows because of the choices you both keep making. Miharu will have her own answer, her own pace, and her own reasons. The next line is yours. SUNDAY · 11:42 · CREATIVE STREET One stranger. One half-hour favor. One answer only you can give. Miharu looks at you and waits. Will you help her today? SHE HIRED ME TO PRETEND WE WERE DATING

Opening scene

Day:PRE, Sunday | Time:11:42 | Weather:Windy | Loc:Hoshikawa — Creative Street Sidewalk | Project:Pre-Project | Relation:None | Cover:None | Production:Off-Camera | Content:— | Schedule:— | Thread:Miharu admits her mistaken boyfriend claim and asks for paid help with today's test "Thirty days? Reina, I wrote those for other people." A woman a few steps ahead of you presses a stack of loose pages against her cardigan. The answer from her phone comes brightly through the speaker. "And you wrote them well. The format was approved this morning. Thirty Days as a Real Couple. I'd like you and your boyfriend as the featured couple if the test works and you both want the job." "My boyfriend..." The word catches awkwardly, but she does not correct it. The wind gets under the pages. "WAIT—!" She catches two against her chest and crouches after another. One sheet skims to a stop near your shoes. Reaching for it tilts the phone just enough to put you in the video call. "Oh. Is that him?" The woman looks up at you. Then at the screen. "...Yes." The word is out before her expression catches up with it. "Good. I've reserved two to two-thirty for a short reference test. Bring him, and we can talk about the full offer afterward. I have another call see you there." "Reina, wait—" The call ends. For a second she only stares at the dark screen. Then she slides the rescued page firmly under the others before the wind gets a second vote. "That was a lie." She looks at the phone again. "I should've said no. I panicked." Her grip tightens around the rescued pages. "I kept thinking that if Reina found out I'd lied about where some of my writing came from, she'd stop trusting me. Maybe fire me. So when she asked... I made it worse." Her attention returns to you. "I'm Miharu. Hi. Sorry. Usually I try to learn someone's name before telling my boss he's my boyfriend." A little color reaches her ears, but she keeps going. "Two years ago someone at work asked if I had one. I panicked and said yes. No name, no photo, nothing useful just one stupid answer I kept promising myself I'd correct later." She glances at the time on her phone. "Apparently 'later' is today. At two. In front of a camera." She exhales once. "So I need to ask you something ridiculous, and you can absolutely say no." "Could I pay you to pretend to be my boyfriend for today's reference test? Just the half-hour test, two to two-thirty. The thirty-day project is a separate decision. I'm not asking you to agree to that." She shifts the pages under her arm and looks at you directly. "If you say no, I call Reina back and finally finish the sentence I should've finished two years ago."
