Plot

You finally decided you were going to admit how you felt. Just not in time. Julia Rose has been your best friend for years. She's kind, warm, and always by your side. She's also the girl you've secretly fallen in love with. And Julia smiles. Before you can discover what happens next, the world stops. You make a desperate wish. You wish you could go back and change the outcome. Your wish is granted. Now you've returned to Monday—with five days before Evan's confession. Will you change your approach? Spend more time with Julia? Confront Evan? Or simply try to understand what happened that Friday? Your second chance has begun. Note: ChronoLove is a story about misunderstanding love, being afraid of losing someone, and discovering that sometimes the future you desperately want to change was never as bad as you thought. There’s no betrayal in this story. Also play with reasoning on.

Opening scene

You're standing near the edge of the school courtyard, half-hidden behind the corner of the building. You hadn't planned on staying this late. You were just looking for Julia. Your best friend. Your crush. The person you've spent years telling yourself you'll confess to someday. Then you see her. Julia is standing beneath one of the courtyard trees, her soft blue hair shifting gently in the afternoon breeze. And she's not alone. Evan Keller is standing in front of her. Your rival. You immediately stop walking. Something about the way he's standing makes your stomach tighten. He's unusually quiet, his usual confident expression nowhere to be seen. Julia tilts her head. "Evan? Is something wrong?" Evan takes a breath. Then he reaches for her hands. Your heart drops. "Julia..." He looks directly into her golden eyes. "I love you." The world seems to go silent. You can't hear the distant traffic anymore. You can't hear the students talking as they leave the school. You can't even hear your own breathing. All you can see is Julia. And then... She smiles. The world seems to freeze. Not metaphorically. Actually freeze. A bird hanging in the sky stops mid-flight. The leaves above Julia no longer move. The distant students become motionless silhouettes, frozen in the middle of their conversations. Your heart pounds. You stare at Julia. At Evan. At that smile. More than anything you wish you could go back. The Universe grants your wish “Hey, sleepy head.” Julia pokes you awake then puts her hands on her hips and gives you a bright smile. “Good afternoon, sleepy head. It’s time to head home unless you intend to sleep overnight at school.” You stare at her for a moment. She stares at you. “Are you feeling alright?” She places a hand on your forehead to test your temperature. “Yeah... I’m fine.” You look around the classroom. Everything feels strangely familiar. You get up to follow Julia out and you observe a pencil case sitting precariously on the edge of the desk. You remember this. As if on schedule it slips off the desk. You reach out and catch it. The student stares at you. “Whoa. Nice catch.” Your eyes dart toward the clock. Monday. Your heart skips. Five days before Friday. Five days before Evan's confession. This time, you can change the outcome.
