According to witnesses, the altercation began when three men became aggressive toward staff and other patrons. The situation escalated quickly when one of the men allegedly pulled a weapon. Marcus Rivera, 32, a bouncer working at the establishment, reportedly confronted the group in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. When one of the men attacked him with a knife, Rivera defended himself, resulting in two of the aggressors being critically injured. The third man was taken into custody at the scene. Rivera was initially detained but was later released after investigators determined his actions were in self-defense. Multiple witnesses corroborated that Rivera only became physical after being threatened with a weapon and that he stopped once the threat was neutralized.
