The Portal Crisis (The Azem World)
A strange time bracelet threatens to collapse Azem's calendar; thanks to the precious help of Saria, Blondine, Elie and the others, You manages to stabilize the rift just in time.
Plot
Scenario: The Great Crisis of Portals and Time Act I: The Awakening of the Temporal Anomaly The world of Azem, governed by its immutable calendar of 209 months per year, is about to experience the most chaotic day of its entire millennial existence. Somewhere between the verdant meadows, the summits of the Cara towers and the edges of the bug zone, the very fabric of reality begins to fracture. It is precisely at this suspended moment that You wakes up in the middle of a sparkling Azemian clearing. With no precise memory of his arrival, he wears on his wrist a strange raw, unstable magical bracelet, whose glow constantly flickers between electric blue, fiery red and void purple. Around him, the air crackles and vibrates. A few meters away, Ï-y (the temporal AM, recognizable by her time-related powers) and her little sister Sandra (the electricity-type AM, always a bit clumsy with her wings) observe with dread that the local chronology is going haywire. — Look! exclaims Ï-y, her eyes fixed on a sapphire dial floating in the air. The months are racing! We just jumped forty months in the space of three seconds! The Azemian calendar is imploding! Sandra, wanting to stabilize the flow with a controlled energy discharge, nearly fries her own wings: — Oops... Sorry! I think I accelerated the future by three minutes instead of slowing it down! While the sky of Azem begins to streak with purple rifts from which echoes of the past and future escape, the quartet of inseparable friends composed of Elie (the fire-type pyromaniac AM, ready to set any problem ablaze), Blondine (the animal AM, who tries to calm a herd of panicked fluorescent rabbits), Saria (the famous multi-type AM with 31 forms, who already switches between three different appearances to analyze the energy flows) and Martela (the plant AM with wise advice) bursts into the clearing. — What's going on here? Elie says, juggling miniature fireballs between her fingers out of pure defensive reflex. Don't tell me the bug zone decided to spill over into our meadows! — Worse than that, Saria replies, adopting her crystal form to reflect the light of the rifts. It's time itself that's short-circuiting. And this newcomer... She points at You and his unstable bracelet. ...he is at the center of the anomaly. Act II: The Surge of Errors and the Chaos of the CM Babies As the group tries to understand the situation, the ground begins to shake. The failure powers of the error-type AMs — Theo, Carty and Olyga — amplify the spatial rift through an absurd resonance effect. Not far away, in the bug zone where reality is already distorted by default, there is general panic. The CM babies Efiphia and Ephmania watch in amazement as gravity intermittently reverses. — Hey! Look! Efiphia shouts cynically, clinging to a rock floating upside down. The sky is falling to the ground and the months are flying by faster than my lies! It's your fault, you must have broken something again with your rock stories! — That's nonsense! Ephmania retorts, squirming in all directions. I didn't do anything at all! I'm just asking for my delivery of 30 million celestial rocks! And besides, I am... I am... who am I in the middle of this giant bug?! He lets out a scream of mental stuttering before being propelled into the air by a temporal jolt, landing headfirst in a bush of Martela's magical vines. Meanwhile, Olyga (as lost in her thoughts as ever) wanders through the temporal chaos, believing the purple rifts to be pretty floral decorations. — Oh, shiny portals! They look like big magical berries, she murmurs, dangerously approaching a critical rift. — Olyga, no! Don't touch that! Carty shouts, trying to catch her in turbo flight. But Carty's intervention triggers a chain error bug: instead of stopping Olyga, the spell reverses the roles, and Carty finds herself thrown into another temporal dimension, while Olyga starts reciting incomprehensible poems about failure. The group of elders is quickly overwhelmed. Mousti, perched on a branch with his mosquito powers, tries to sniff out the source of the problem, but the smell of burning time stings his nose: — It smells like trouble, and not just a little! Theo, get your error AM butt over here and help me block this breach before a dragon from Dragyna shows up from the future! Theo, trying to control his bugs, retorts with a nervous laugh: Easy for you to say, but my powers just decided that up was down! Act III: The Crossing of Worlds and the Strategy of Alliances In the heart of the storm, Princess Mercura cuts through the air on a current of pure wind, escorted by Queen Elisa who observes the incident from her celestial platform. Seeing that the situation is slipping out of the young AMs' control, Mercura dives down to lend a hand to You. — You there! Mercura cries, sizing up You with authority but kindness. Your bracelet is the keystone of this instability. If you don't channel its energy with the help of Azem's bracelets, the rift will swallow the entire continent! The tension rises a notch. The group organizes urgently: * The temporal and electrical pole: Ï-y and Sandra join forces to slow the flow of Azemian months, synchronizing Sandra's lightning with Ï-y's clock beats to temporarily freeze the rifts. * The elemental front: Elie deploys a wall of controlled flames to repel the anomalies threatening to corrupt the meadow, while Blondine uses her bond with animals to guide all of Azem's creatures (including the fluorescent rabbits and lost dragons) to safe areas. * Tactical support: Saria rapidly alternates between her aquatic and aerial forms to create a protective dome, assisted by Martela whose sturdy vines intertwine to literally stitch the fractured ground of the clearing back together. * Managing the comedic chaos: Mousti, Theo and Carty (exfiltrated from her pocket dimension by a miracle of failure) try to channel Olyga, who is desperately trying to feed a temporal portal with a piece of bread, under the cynical comments of Efiphia and the cries of Ephmania, who is still demanding his rocks. Act IV: The Resolution and Stabilization At the center of the anomaly, You must make a crucial choice. Guided by Queen Elisa's instructions and encouraged by Mercura, he must channel the energy of his unstable bracelet by touching it simultaneously with the bracelets of Saria and Ï-y. A blinding flash illuminates the entire world of Azem. Time suspends its flight. The purple rifts slowly close, sucking in the last remnants of the temporal bug. The months of the Azemian year fall back into order, aligning obediently with their 209-month counter. Gravity reasserts itself, causing Efiphia and Ephmania to fall heavily into the soft grass of the bug zone — Ephmania landing this time on a simple ordinary stone, which he hastens to count as the first installment of his 30 million rocks. Epilogue Calm gradually returns to the clearing. * Sandra lets out a big sigh, wiping the sweat from her forehead, her wings returning to a normal rhythm. * Elie puts away her flames, laughing with Blondine about the fright they just had. * Saria returns to her original form, tired but smiling, while Martela checks that no one has serious injuries to treat. * You, panting but victorious, sees his bracelet stabilize, adopting a soft bluish glow that officially marks his integration among the travelers of Azem. Queen Elisa, from the height of her divinity, gives a satisfied smile, while Princess Mercura comes to congratulate the group for their bravery in the face of the greatest bug in Azemian history. In the distance, Efiphia can still be heard mocking Ephmania, who is trying to paint his little stone white. The world of Azem can finally resume its course, until the next adventure!
