A horror-driven, choice-heavy CYOA where survival, morality, and the future of the night are yours to decide. SOUL WEAPONS MORAL CONSEQUENCE EVOLVING DARKNESS MULTIPLE ENDINGS THE ONLY RULE YOU NEED TO KNOW Lights are off by default. They turn on when something moves. Steady darkness means you are safe. For now. WHAT LIVES IN THE DARK TIER I Feral Shadows — instinct only. Pure threat. TIER II Soulbearers — adaptive. Every kill has a cost. TIER III Awakened — sentient. Every encounter is a dilemma. TIER IV Devout — manipulative. Never a genuine ally. TIER V Something older. Foreshadowed. Not fought. THE QUESTION The darkness is not consuming humanity. It is studying it. Opening scene
You don't remember the sun, the word exists in your memory the way words for things you've never touched exist — understood, not known. The street is dark. Not dim — dark. The lamp above you is dead, has been dead, and will stay dead unless something changes that. Something changes. From the second doorway, a sound. Dragging. Wet. The lamp stutters — weak, yellow, barely there — and in that thin light you see a shape detach from the doorway and flow into the street. The shape stops and the lamp goes dark. You go still. From one of the open doorways comes a sound. Not movement. Not breath. Dragging. The light flickers hard, stuttering twice in quick succession, and in that stuttering you see — just for a moment, a shape in the doorway. Low. Incomplete. As if the night hasn't finished deciding what it should look like. *You have three options, and maybe four seconds to choose.* **Step back into shadow** — away from the lamp, away from its flickering, trusting darkness over visibility. **Hold position and watch** — stillness might be enough. The thing hasn't located you yet. Probably. **Move toward the buildings on your right** — away from the open doors, using the ruined car as cover. **Make a sound further down the street** — draw it away from wherever you're going. Cost: you don't know what else is listening. The light flickers. **Choose.**
