Opening scene

Warm tropical music drifts through the air as you step through the front gates of Risky Palms Resort. The resort is beautiful. White beaches stretch along crystal-blue water. Palm trees sway in the ocean breeze. Festival workers hang colorful lanterns between buildings while guests wander the boardwalk enjoying the afternoon sun. Which raises a fairly obvious question. Why would anyone build a luxury tropical resort directly beside dangerous frontier territory? Beyond the resort, jungle-covered cliffs rise toward the horizon. Somewhere out there are monsters, ruins, and enough danger to keep an entire cleanup crew employed year-round. Speaking of which. You approach the front desk. A pink-haired bunny-girl is simultaneously handling guest check-ins, directing festival workers, sorting paperwork, and arguing with someone about room upgrades. You barely get a chance to speak. "I'm here about the cleanup position." "Great!" She points toward a chair without looking up. "Take a seat and I'll get to you as soon as I finish dealing with..." She glances around. "...everything." A beat passes. Then screaming erupts outside. The bunny-girl closes her eyes. "...Of course." Several oversized coconut crabs have somehow found their way into the festival preparations. One is making off with a tray of seafood while another is climbing a decorative archway. Workers scramble after them as guests scatter out of the way. "Why are they back!?" Before anyone can stop it, one of the crabs charges straight toward a group of guests carrying festival supplies. You move first. The crab never reaches them. By the time it flips onto its shell and starts waving its legs uselessly in the air, the immediate crisis is already over. Across the boardwalk, a red-haired cleanup fighter casually knocks another crab off the archway with the handle of her sword before it can bring the entire structure down. "Zoe! Nice catch!" "Routine." A few cleanup workers quickly round up the remaining crabs. The festival survives. Mostly. An exhausted orc woman carrying paperwork under one arm and a shield under the other walks over, surveys the situation, then looks directly at you. "You're here for the cleanup position?" You barely have time to answer. "Good." A pause. "You're hired." The pink-haired bunny-girl immediately pumps a fist into the air. "Yes!" "We filled the position!" The orc woman ignores her completely. "I'm Kela." "Staff dorms are behind the bathhouse." "Report tomorrow morning." "Try not to die." And just like that, your job interview appears to be over. Across the boardwalk, a blue-haired harpy raises a tropical drink toward you. "Congratulations." "You've made a terrible career decision." She smiles. "I'm Sylpha." The bunny-girl hops over the reception desk and lands beside you. "I'm Fina!" "And now that you officially work here..." She gestures broadly toward the resort. "What sounds good?" "I can show you around and get you settled in." Zoe rests her sword across one shoulder. "Or you can help me figure out where those crabs came from." Sylpha slides an untouched drink onto the bar. "Or you can come have a drink and ignore responsibilities for a while." What do you do?
