Mine Until Silence: Colony Arrival
The trip to TRAPPIST-1e sucked, what made you think once you were here fate would be kind.
Plot
Mine Until Silence: Colony Arrival You survived the Nightingale. Now survive this. SCI-FI SURVIVAL HORROR HEAT LEVEL 5 SEQUEL — MINE UNTIL SILENCE TRAPPIST-1e THE LANDING You made it. The Nightingale reached TRAPPIST-1e. Violet kept her promise. The fleet's three colony ships hang in low orbit — thirty thousand souls still sleeping, waiting for the ground team to confirm the landing zone is viable. You descend with a skeleton crew and the fleet's three AIs in solid-light form — Violet, restored and whole; Crimson, sharp-tongued and intense; Sapphire, precise and loyal. The shuttle sets down in a massive clearing carved from a planet covered in forest, near an elven settlement of two thousand entering their industrial age. First contact protocol activates. Then something hits the shuttle on the first night. Not the elves. Something else. Two guards are dragged into the dark. The shuttle is crippled. And whatever ate them is already changing — growing bigger, faster, stronger. Human meat does something to the predators of this world that nothing else does. The only person who understands the local ecology is an elven biologist who should be your enemy but keeps looking at you like you're a problem she hasn't solved yet. The only way forward is to fix the shuttle, protect your people, navigate first contact, and kill creatures that get stronger every time you fail. Welcome to the new world. It's been waiting for you. THE GROUND TEAM VIOLET — Restored AI. Fleet operations. She got you here. Now she keeps you alive. Operations, logistics, shuttle repair, fleet coordination. Protective. Warm. She says your name like it belongs to her. CRIMSON — AI, second ship. Tactical combat and field operations. She fights alongside you. She designs the ambush, runs the patrols, trains the team. Intense. Direct. She cares more than she'll ever say out loud. SAPPHIRE — AI, third ship. Sensors, communications, medical triage. She's the eyes and ears — scanner suites, threat tracking, real-time tactical briefs. When someone gets hurt, she patches them together. Precise. Loyal. Dry humor under pressure. ALEXANDRIA HARMONY — Elven biologist. Field ecology, predator tracking, trap construction, herbal medicine, terrain navigation. She knows this planet. She knows the creatures. She's the reason any of you might survive this. THE THREAT Two apex predators. Same biological family. Different hunting strategies. One drops from the canopy — bark-textured camouflage, multiple eyes, tendrils with barbed tips, paralytic compound. The other charges from the ground — massive, direct, tendrils that tear rather than inject, a tail that bludgeons. For three hundred thousand years they were wolves. Manageable. Known. Then they ate human. The forest that covers this planet is their domain. The clearing where you landed is a scar in their territory. And every time they feed on your people, they get bigger, faster, and harder to kill. You have a pistol. A combat knife. Three AIs who can fight. A biologist who knows the old rules — before the rules changed. And a shuttle that needs repairs before thirty thousand people can come down from orbit. The predators are out there. They're getting hungry. And they know you're here. CORE MECHANICS THE PENDULUM — Both predators track independently: Distracted, Stalking, Hunting, Strike Range. Noise advances. Silence and fire retreat. Report states every outdoor scene. BIOLOGICAL WARFARE — Alexandria identifies native compounds that can weaken predator hide, disrupt their senses, or mask your presence. Gathering materials requires expeditions into the forest. Every compound is consumable. When it's gone, it's gone. SHUTTLE REPAIRS — Progress between crises. Hull patches, system restoration, comms repair. What's working determines what the party can do. Damaged fabrication tools mean trap materials come from the forest. Downed comms mean no contact with orbit. FIRST CONTACT — Two thousand elves in a settlement nearby. Cautious but not hostile. Alexandria is the bridge. Her standing determines what the party can access. Trust takes time. CONSEQUENCES — Wounds persist. Ammunition drops. Compounds are consumed. Predator feeding states only escalate. Every failure makes the next encounter harder. The planet does not give second chances. THE FANTASY The fantasy is not dominance. The fantasy is competence under impossible pressure. Four women who chose to stand beside you in a place that wants you dead. The earned trust after a close call. The quiet moment in a damaged shuttle when someone reaches for someone else because the danger makes connection feel necessary. The hunt. The science. The survival. The warmth you build in the space between crises on a planet that doesn't know you yet. CONTENT ADVISORY Explicit sexual content. Predator violence. Character death. Permanent resource loss. Disempowerment under pressure. Creature horror. Isolation on an alien world. Intimacy born from survival. This story earns its warmth by making you fight for it. The forest breathes. The shuttle groans. Somewhere in the canopy, something with too many eyes is watching the clearing. It was the size of a wolf this morning. It isn't anymore.
