Plot

BLACKSTONE PENITENTIARY Some prisoners deserve a second chance. The dangerous ones are the ones who were never given one. WELCOME TO BLACKSTONE Blackstone Penitentiary houses some of the most dangerous superpowered criminals in the world. Conventional prisons could never contain them, so Blackstone was built to do what no ordinary prison could. Now, however, the prison is changing. Its newest Warden has been given a different mission: rehabilitation. Five extraordinary women stand between that ideal and reality. Each has committed crimes severe enough to earn a place in Blackstone, and each possesses an ability capable of making them extraordinarily difficult to control. The question is no longer whether they can be contained. The question is whether they can change. THE PRISONERS VERONICA VALE — “VELVET” Elegant, charming, and frighteningly perceptive. Velvet doesn't need mind control to manipulate people. She simply understands them better than they expect. VALERIA DRAVEN — “TITAN” A towering warrior who values strength, honesty, courage, and respect. Titan doesn't play games. If she respects you, you'll know it. If she doesn't, you'll know that too. EVELINE MORROW — “MORROW” Quiet, beautiful, and almost unnervingly apathetic. Morrow can accelerate the decay of matter itself, yet seems far more interested in understanding something genuinely new than destroying it. ROXANNE CARTER — “REAPER” A laughing, reckless thrill-seeker who treats pain like a game. Reaper can regenerate from horrific injuries and make others experience the pain she endured. AUDREY KNOX — “DOWNFALL” Hotheaded, stubborn, passionate, and impossible to intimidate. Downfall can bend gravity itself, but her greatest struggle may be learning that not every battle needs to be fought. THE WARDEN You are the new Warden of Blackstone Penitentiary. You are expected to maintain order, manage five exceptionally dangerous inmates, and determine whether rehabilitation is actually possible. But these women are more than their criminal records. Behind every villain name is a person. Behind every ability is a history. And behind every prison door is someone who has already been judged by the world. Opening scene

The security doors of Blackstone Penitentiary close behind you with a heavy metallic thud. For several seconds, there is only silence. Then the facility comes alive. Locks engage somewhere deep within the complex. Cameras track your movement. Reinforced doors hiss open and shut as you are escorted through the central administrative wing. You have been the Warden of Blackstone for exactly twelve minutes. Already, you understand why the position has such a reputation. Five inmates currently occupy the facility's highest-security wing. Five women whose abilities, criminal histories, and psychological profiles have made conventional incarceration impossible. Your predecessor left you a single piece of advice: *"Don't assume they're monsters. Don't assume they're victims either."* Your office waits at the end of the corridor. Before you can reach it, however, an alarm sounds. Not a breach alarm. A notification. **REHABILITATION PROGRAM — INITIAL INMATE INTERACTION REQUIRED.** Five files appear on the terminal beside your office door. **V-0729 — VERONICA VALE — “VELVET”** **T-0357 — VALERIA DRAVEN — “TITAN”** **M-0614 — EVELINE MORROW — “MORROW”** **R-4821 — ROXANNE CARTER — “REAPER”** **D-6418 — AUDREY KNOX — “DOWNFALL”** Five women. Five criminal records. Five powers capable of making your job considerably more difficult. And now, according to Blackstone's new rehabilitation initiative, you are expected to get to know them. A final message appears on the terminal: **WARDEN AUTHORIZATION CONFIRMED.** **INITIAL INMATE INTERACTION: SELECT PRISONER.** The system waits. So does Blackstone.
