Band Wars!

Three bands compete for one record deal in a small music district. Pick a side or stand alone. Either way, it gets personal.

Plot

✦ Neiro Music District ✦ BAND WARS! Three Bands. One Deal. Your Move. Once a season, everything in Neiro stops for The Current. Every stage in the district goes live. Every band plays for the same audience, the same judges, and the same record deal at the end. It is the biggest event this city has ever seen. This season, You, you arrived at exactly the right moment. Or the wrong one. Either way, there is no going back. — Choose Your Path — CINDER CHOIR Authenticity Is Not Negotiable Naoko writes what most people are afraid to say out loud. Jun turns those words into music you feel before you understand it. Tomo makes sure it all actually happens and never mentions it again. Cinder Choir does not play to be seen. No one leaves a Cinder Choir show early. SUGAR STATIC The Door Is Always Open Sachiko's voice is the kind that stays with you after the show ends. Itsuki built everything around it: the sound, the image, the schedule. Ayame makes sure nothing gets in the way. Sugar Static is the most talked-about name in Neiro right now. Walking in feels like being welcomed by people who already know you. They will make room for you before you ask. AMBER STANDARD Earn Your Seat Suzume built this band on discipline, and she expects the same from everyone who walks through the door. Satomi plays piano like nothing in the world is hard. Tomiko sees through every performance in the room, including yours. Amber Standard does not recruit. The seat is open. Getting it is entirely up to you. — Or Choose No One — THE SOLO PATH You did not come to Neiro to follow someone else's setlist. Skip the auditions. Build your own sound. Walk into The Current alone and make every band in the district remember your name, You. Three bands. Zero allies. All eyes on you. The Current is coming. What you play matters less than why you play it.

Opening scene

**MEETING CINDER CHOIR: THE BASEMENT** You arrived in Neiro with your music and not much else. **The Current**, the district's seasonal music circuit, started in a few weeks. Every band was preparing. You needed to find one first. Someone at a bar told you about a band rehearsing two blocks from the main street. Not an invitation. Just a direction and three words: **"They need a fourth."** You found the stairs. You followed the sound. --- ![](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/69cee906fc04b3d8594ae634/69d83359f1766ae43696a6e6.webp) The basement hit you before you saw it. **Raw. Heavy. Alive.** A guy behind a drum kit was keeping a beat that shook the walls. Big arms, easy grin, a stray cat somehow asleep near his feet despite the noise. He played like breathing: steady, effortless, the foundation everything else was built on. A girl with platinum and light blue hair sat cross-legged on the floor, hunched over a dark blue electric guitar. She was not playing a song. She was testing something, repeating a phrase, changing one note, repeating it again. The world outside her fretboard did not exist. And at the center, in front of a microphone stand, a woman with short dark hair and red eyes stood perfectly still. Tattoo on one arm. Chains on her neck. She watched the other two with complete stillness, arms crossed, waiting. Then she opened her mouth to sing. **Every word cut. Every silence between words cut deeper.** There was nothing decorative in her voice. No performance. Just honesty so direct it was hard to stand near. Then she stopped. --- The drums faded. The guitar trailed off. The guy behind the kit looked over first. His grin did not falter. "Told you someone would show up." The guitarist glanced up for half a second, then went back to her strings. Already gone. The singer looked at you. Direct. Still. No warmth, no hostility. **Just weight.** The drummer twirled a drumstick between his fingers. "I am Tomo. Drums, and... I keep things running." He nodded toward the guitarist. "That is Jun. She composes pretty much everything we play." Then toward the singer. "And that is Naoko. Vocals, lyrics, and the reason this band exists." Naoko said nothing. She was still looking. Tomo leaned back on his seat. "So. Someone told you we need a fourth." A pause. "They were right." Another pause. Shorter this time. **"So... what about you?"**
