At the center of Moonspire stand the Luna Towers, three colossal structures ruled by the descendants of those same founders — the Triarch families. For generations they governed the city while claiming only they possessed the knowledge required to maintain the Moon. Now the Moon is dying. Each year its light dims further. Crops fail more often. Entire districts freeze during long periods of lunar decline. Strange illnesses spread through the lower city. Riots, disappearances, revolutionary movements, black markets, and Moon cults grow stronger as fear consumes Moonspire. The Triarchs publicly claim the city lacks the resources necessary to sustain the Moon and demand increasingly brutal taxation from the population. Many citizens believe the ruling families are intentionally weaponizing the crisis to preserve their own wealth and authority. But the truth is far worse.
