If you are searching for an ISEKAI ZERO alternative, there is one answer most lists miss, because it is only a few months old: KAGESEKAI, the official web extension of ISEKAI ZERO, built by the same team on the same engine. Same stories, same characters, same rules, played in the browser without the softening that app stores require. Full disclosure: we are the ISEKAI ZERO team, so we also cover the honest case for leaving entirely, and which game to pick if you do.

Why people look for an ISEKAI ZERO alternative

Looking at what people type into Google before landing here, the reasons sort into four groups:

1. Play on PC or in a browser. "ISEKAI ZERO web", "ISEKAI ZERO pc" and "websites like ISEKAI ZERO" are some of the most common searches. The app works in a browser at isekaizero.ai, but a lot of players want a site that is built for the browser first.
2. Content ratings. ISEKAI ZERO carries SFW, M17 and 18+ storylines today, each behind its own age setting. To keep its place in the Apple App Store and Google Play, it is planned to narrow to SFW and M17, and players who follow 18+ stories want to know where those go.
3. Store rules reach into the play. Even on an 18+ storyline, the AI in the app follows store rules on what it may write and draw. Generated images come out safe for a store screenshot whatever the scene.
4. A different kind of game. Some people do not want another isekai roleplay. They want a D&D Dungeon Master, a pure chatbot, or a text sandbox with no storylines at all. We list those at the end.

The first three have one official answer. The fourth has several honest ones.

KAGESEKAI: the official alternative

KAGESEKAI (影世界, "shadow world") is ISEKAI ZERO's web extension. It opened in 2026, runs on the same code and the same content policy, and mirrors every public ISEKAI ZERO storyline automatically, so it launched with the full library on day one. The one thing it adds: it is a website, not an app in a store, so nothing the AI writes or draws is softened by store rules. The team describes it as ISEKAI ZERO with the lights turned down, the same world seen from its shadow side.

ISEKAI ZERO vs KAGESEKAI, side by side

Both sites run one engine, so features land on both the same day. Here is what differs.

The short version: if your reason for leaving is the platform, the ratings, or the way store rules shape the play, KAGESEKAI removes the reason without making you start over. If your reason is the game itself, keep reading to the last section.

How to switch in four steps

1. Open kagesekai.ai in any browser. No store, no gate. It loads like any other site.
2. Sign in with the same email you use on ISEKAI ZERO. Your creator profile, mirrored stories and follower counts are already there. Stats from both sites are counted together.
3. Import what you want to keep. Open your profile, tap Import from ISEKAI ZERO, and pick items one at a time: stories, characters, chats, the creators you follow, likes and saves. A chat needs its storyline to be on KAGESEKAI, and a chat in cold storage has to be restored on ISEKAI ZERO first. Nothing is sent back the other way.
4. Move your Arcane if you have any. On the Sigil balance card tap Bring in from ISEKAI ZERO, enter an amount, confirm. It arrives as Sigil one to one, right away. Mana stays on ISEKAI ZERO, and purchases made through Apple or Google stay there too.

Optional: install it like an app. On Android and desktop Chrome or Edge, tap Install app in Settings or the sidebar. On iPhone and iPad, tap Share in Safari, then Add to Home Screen. Notifications work once installed.

What KAGESEKAI does not do yet

We would rather you knew these before switching than after.

• You cannot publish on KAGESEKAI yet. You can write there and keep stories private or unlisted, and any mirrored story has a Make an editable copy option, but publishing lives on ISEKAI ZERO for now. What you publish there appears on KAGESEKAI on its own.
• Mirrored stories are read-only there. The original on ISEKAI ZERO is always the one you edit.
• Mana does not transfer. Only Arcane moves, and the transfer is a convenience that may go away one day.
• It is new and rough in places. The team says so on its own about page, which is also where the roadmap lives: publishing first, then 18+ stories make KAGESEKAI their home, with each step announced ahead of time and existing links kept working.
• The rules are the same rules. KAGESEKAI runs under ISEKAI ZERO's content policy in full. The hard lines (no underage characters in any form, no real people, no hate or extremism, no self-harm promotion) are identical and a ban on one side is a ban on both.

Is ISEKAI ZERO going away?

No. ISEKAI ZERO keeps its apps, its Discord, Michiru, and everything you use today, and is still where creators publish. The one planned change is that it will carry SFW and M17 storylines only, so that its place in the stores is safe. That happens gradually, only after publishing works on KAGESEKAI, and 18+ stories keep living on KAGESEKAI under the same review as always. KAGESEKAI is an extension of ISEKAI ZERO, not a replacement for it.

Storylines to try on KAGESEKAI first

These three are among the best-played isekai storylines on ISEKAI ZERO, and all three are mirrored on KAGESEKAI already:

• Crash Into Another World: a routine drive ends in a crash and you wake up in a world of magic, monsters and adventurers who would rather you were dead.
• Another World Under Twin Moons: five princesses need to claim you to inherit the throne, one of the best-earning storylines on the platform.
• Crash Into Conceding World: you are the Hero this time, and they are the Demon Lords.
