30 Roleplay Ideas & RP Prompts That Actually Go Somewhere (Sorted by Genre)
Stories you can play right now
Every roleplay idea that works is the same machine: a charged relationship × a confined setting × a spark. Rivals × snowed-in inn × one bed. Bodyguard × royal ball × assassination attempt. Here are thirty, sorted by genre — then the honest answer to the real problem, which is finding someone to play them with.
Fantasy & isekai
- The hero and the demon lord meet in the same tavern the night before the final battle — neither admits who they are
- You wake up in the body of the villain the prophecy says will die in chapter one
- Rival adventurers trapped in a collapsing dungeon agree to a one-night alliance
- A knight is assigned to guard the witch they were sent to arrest last year
- The summoning circle worked — but it summoned you, and the summoner is out of mana to send you back
- A dragon in human form hires you as a guide, and you're the only one who's noticed the eyes
Romance
- Childhood friends reunite five years after one of them became famous
- A contract relationship, three months in, on the day one side stops pretending
- Enemies at work, snowed in at the airport hotel during the company trip
- You keep meeting the same stranger at the same café — today their usual table has your name on it
- The arranged marriage neither of you wanted — negotiating the rules of a marriage in name only
- Your best friend's rival confesses to you, and you're 80% sure it's to get at your friend. The other 20% is the problem
School & slice of life
- Transfer student's first day — the empty seat is next to the person from the incident yesterday
- Student council president and the delinquent who keeps ending up in the council room
- Two students locked in the library overnight before exams
- The club is one member from being disbanded, and the only candidate is the person who hates the club president
- You found a classmate's dropped notebook. It's full of drawings of you
Sci-fi & dystopia

- An android bought secondhand starts remembering its previous owner
- Rebel and loyalist siblings meet at the border checkpoint, each in uniform
- The AI running the city asks you, specifically, for help
- Memory-trading is legal, and someone just sold you a memory you're in
Mystery & horror
- The detective and their prime suspect, handcuffed together by the real killer
- A séance goes right — the ghost has opinions about the house's new owners
- Everyone in the manor got a different letter from the deceased. Nobody's sharing
- Your new roommate never sleeps, and tonight they finally ask if you've noticed
- Two monster hunters realize they've been hunting each other
Wildcard sparks (drop into any pairing)
- One of you loses your memory of the other — the other has to decide what to retell honestly
- A body swap, discovered mid-argument
- A letter arrives from ten years in the future, addressed to both of you
How to open so it doesn't die in three replies
Start mid-scene. "The cell door closes behind you both" gives a partner something to react to; introductions give them nothing. Establish the spark in your first message, and always end your replies with something the other side has to answer — a question, a provocation, a problem.
The real problem: the partner
Every RP community has the same graveyard: threads that died when a partner ghosted, time zones that never lined up, three-day reply gaps that killed the momentum. The ideas were fine. The logistics weren't.
That's the case for AI roleplay. In ISEKAI ZERO, the other side of the scene is always there:
- Pick a storyline (fantasy, school, romance, isekai) and open mid-scene immediately — the AI plays every other character
- It remembers what happened, so idea #28 actually lands — the amnesia matters because the AI knew your history
- Scenes generate art and music as you go
- Free to play (free Mana daily, watch ads for more), in the browser, at 3 a.m., no partner search
- Got an idea from this list you'd run differently? Build it as your own storyline and earn a 25% profit share when others play it
